ONE PIECE ( ... of? )
I don't really care for One Piece, but I am thinking of applying to get this One Piece house dress (it's just the cost of a stamp, I think). They are giving them away for 150 people chosen by random lottery. What do you think? If I somehow get it and decide not to use it (a 50% chance), I can either sell it or give it to a friend or away in a contest..

Btw.. Thank you Adele for the Hime-Ringo! (The little apple that you see in the picture) It was quite scrumptious!

genkanai informed me of a burrito place in Tokyo called Frijoles, and this turned into a "let's have burritos on Sunday (today)!" event for a few friends and I. :D To me, a burrito is supposed to be mushy refried beans with tons of cheese and maybe some onions and red sauce if you're lucky (aka, the Taco Bell bean burrito). That's the epitome of burrito, and I stand bythat assessment. However, after moving to Japan I was surprised to find that there are such things as burritos that contain other stuff than what I mentioned. In fact, except for the cheese, any burrito I've ever found in Japan has never had any of those ingredients (ToT). While I still think that is what a real burrito is made of, I have to admit that these other impostor burritos are really yummy! =^^= Especially when made by Frijoles, where you can choose your own innards! :) Mmmmmmm! If it wasn't so inconvenient for me (we went to the location in Azabu Juban, although Roppongi is equally out of the way), I would go often! Please make one in Shibuya! In any case, thank you genkanai, it was yummy!! The other three girls that I went with agreed with that assessment, I think. ^^

I am trying to save for a new camera as well (you might have noticed that I don't post many pictures here recently.. this is because my digicam is broken, so I only have my iphone), so I think that I may design a t-shirt for Threadless... I wonder if I would even make it in... but I have so many good ideas! I would definitely need you guys' help to get printed, but even just one print would be enough for a nice semi-pro camera, which I have wanted for so long.. Do you guys think I should do it? I was thinking "cute anime-like food" as a theme.. because it would be fun, there isn't much like that there, and I would want to wear it too!! I already have a lot to do, but just imagine! Omg.... cute little food t-shirts!

...I think that I have to do this, now. I will sketch a little and post them here (okay, I lie, I have already sketched a lot!) I will clean them up a little and post some ideas here if anyone is interested in giving me some advice as to what they would like to wear =^^=

I know the owner of Frijoles (we were in the same entering class of [investment bank] in 2005 and have remained in touch), and from what I hear from others in the same class year, he is opening a second location. It sounds like a few friends are going to be investing in the second location, though I didn't ask them where it was going to be.

I went to the original tasting party for the first location, and honestly, I was a bit disappointed at first. My friend is also from California like I am, so I was expecting more California burrito fare (which is nothing like the Taco Bell "burrito") than the Chipotle style they have going, but I'm still grateful to have a location for acceptable burritos. Being that it's local, we actually get the burritos delivered to us fairly regularly.

The second location (opening tmw) is in Roppongi, somewhere near the Hills.. so for you quite a bit more local than Azabu-Juban. ^.~ I really wish that there was a location more convenient to me, though. Aka, somewhere I don't have to change lines 2-3 times to get to. :P

Chipotle! Yes, that's what it reminded me of, but I couldn't remember the name of the place! Thanks!

Wow, tomorrow! (That's what I get for not paying attention to Facebook, as apparently he also held an opening party this weekend.) The new location appears to be by Roppongi Crossing, which is indeed right by here, but I get the feeling that I'd still order them delivery because of the convenience.

Hahaha, I'm glad you also thought of Chipotle. They even have the same corn salsa as Chipotle.

I was going to say, I looked at that link and my first thought was "They finally brought a Chipotle-like place to Japan? Cool!"

You've never been to Texas before, have you? Because what you describe as a burrito, is not really it. That is what is called, by my husband and I, as taco mush, all it's missing is the Spanish rice. You mix the beans and rice together, along with any sauce from your enchilada, put it in a flour tortilla and eat.

Burrito's have lettuce, cheese, some kind of meat (chicken, steak, hamburger, etc), hot sauce (if you want), some kind of bean (re fried, black, pinto), among other things. The burrito is a multifunction food, you are getting ripped off by getting the fast food version. Though I do like the bean and cheese Taco Bell burrito.

No, but I did live in Arizona for four years. ^^

Growing up we always had the taco bell burritos and those cheap frozen bean+cheese burritos from the supermarket, so to me those will always be real burritos, lol.

Well, as mexican I am, I can tell you a burrito can really have whatever you want to. IMO, by reading the description I think the real impostors may be the Taco Bell burritos but anyways, every cultures make their own version of foreign food based on their customs.

I have been trying for a lot of time to get printed on Threadless. What I can tell if you want to get printed the main points are - A good idea - A good design - People that support you. I'm sure you have them all so I don't see a problem why don't you should try.
And to get printed there is a great financial help.

Ooh!! If you send me a link to your latest design, I will vote for you! ^^

For some reason, I've never gotten into One piece either... even though I like the style of the art.

Frijoles is yummy!

I would be interested if you made a shirt for Threadless!! :D

Ne, Jamie-san...I've been reading your posts and all and...well...burritos are not mexican food ^^U Believe me, I'm mexican and live in Mexico ^//^ We don't have such things as burritos, those are mostly from the boarder in thr US side ^^U I'm actually really curious on the menu of that Frijoles restaurant *Rubs back of the neck sheepishly*

Well, I hope you have a great week! I enjoy reading your entries ^^
