Happy Halloween!! =^_______^=
How did it get to be noon already? Somehow time just flies by when I don't want it to. I need to get up earlier, but I can't sleep earlier, so it's not really possible to get up earlier than 8 and still sleep 8 hours, yknow? Orz. It's too bad there's really no good time for sleeping. The morning would be best since nothing is open and nobody is up, but I don't want to miss the small amount of sunlight that we do get. But everybody is up at night so I can't sleep then either (I try to sleep from midnight-8). ^^;

Anyways... it was halloween on Sunday!! YAY! My favorite holiday!! (Christmas is also another favorite) I went to two parties, so to speak-- Tiffany's birthday on Saturday night, and Mako+my get-together/wander around on Sunday. Fun times! I don't have a lot of time, so I will just post pictures!

I stole some of these from Tiffany (Happy birthday!), sorry! ^.^; Some are mine, others are random..

Courtney and (um.. what was your friend's name? Sorry, I forgot! ^^;) as good and bad angels ^^

William (vampire) and Adele (flower). As always, Adele was awesome and made her costume from scratch!

Hannah and Kimberly (pink fairy) Kimberly made her costume from scratch too!

Eda looks on as Hannah enjoys the onion rings!

Kimberly and Tiffany (as Haruna Ai, lolol)

Group shot ^^

More of the lovely pink girls ^-^

Me.. LOL excuse the bra, it was by design. I was a schoolgirl who had been bitten by a vampire (originally I wanted to be a vampire schoolgirl, but I couldn't find good teeth and the ones I made wouldn't stay in ^^;)

Adele's pretty costume ^^

Okay, seriously!!!! This purikura machine we ran into had glowing eyes! That changed color! It was really, really freaky!

My Sunday party in Shibuya =^-^= Miho and her friend Maya ^-^

Adrian and Kimi-cha, who came as themselves =D

This is the best shot that I have of my costume! Sorry!! ^^;;; It's with Mako, who is net-shy (but made the cutest maid!)

Aaaand, the only good thing about TGI Fridays is the drinks! They have somany!! I don't really care to drink, but a cocktail every once in a while is okay =^-^=Also one of the only times you will probably ever see my nails red again. For some reason it seems too harsh now, though I used to paint them that color all of the time in high school.

Aaaaand! Day 20 - Favorite Japanese festival or folklore.

Ahaha, should I say the penis festival? (Which I've been to twice) It's good for the laughs and the sheer absurdity of people hauling a statue of a giant erect penis (bright pink, of course) down the street. But to be honest, it's not really much more than that, and I find that it's full of people who just want to party. So.. I'd go if friends invited me (might be fun to go with Mako), but I don't care all that much anymore. Maybe I'm just getting old? It might make a funny comic strip one day!

I suppose my favorite festival so far is really just the Summer fireworks festivals. There are tons of them, and they're all so pretty.. I love fireworks!! =^____^= I don't really think that most of them have a meaning other than "hey, fireworks!!", so ^^

As far as folklore! This is easy~~ the KAPPA!

I LOVE KAPPAS!!

I really, really want to meet one one day. I'm not sure where my obsession with them came from, but I guess that it kind of stemmed from this kind of idea that I have:

I believe that many mythical creatures, for example Unicorns, Dragons, Mermaids, etc, are real. They exist now or they existed in the past. But there are so many people who don't believe in them!! I just can't understand that, so it's one of my goals in life to prove to the people who don't believe that they are wrong-- these creatures are/were real! I feel the same way about ghosts. I WILL prove it one day! And when I was looking at Japanese folklore, I noticed hundreds of eyewitness accounts of Kappas throughout history. It seemed to me like Kappas were likely to be one of those real "monsters". How could they not exist? I think that it was that connection and that drive that led me to love kappas so much ♥

I will prove their existence one day! Unless someone beats me to it (feel free to! I am behind you 100%!) Has anyone seen the TV show Destination Truth? It's a bit like that.. I both love and hate that show. Love because they are "trying" to prove the existence of monsters too, and hate because they always stop too early, as if they aren't willing to put in more effort.

Tomorrow's meme will be interesting.. I might have to scan some pictures from magazines or something, if I can find them (a lot of the ones I don't like aren't in the magazines that I do like, and therefore have). Or maybe I can draw pictures, if I have the time.. (I don't really)

I can't wait to see what you have to say about Japanese fashion trends!

I am in L♥VE with the "mori girl" look... but I liked it even before it had a name. I've seen some examples that are a little too frumpy or are wayyy overdoing it though, lol (going crazy with fur or layering, mostly). I prefer it when it's got that soft, romantic "girl hiking through a fairy tale forest" feel.

I laughed when I learned about the "swamp girl" look. But, I haven't seen any definitive photos yet...

I'm glad you believe in mythical creatures! I'm beginning to change my mind about them now, towards thinking they still exist!

There could be something to mythical creatures indeed. In the case of:

Shōjō - red-haired sea-sprites who love alcohol

I believe that's the one, they were probably Vikings (they were also reputed to have beards, bulging eyes, and long noses), but I can see how they'd be viewed as demons. It was also said that they were in a MUCH better mood when drunk and so people brought the giant creatures liquor to soothe them. Of course they also spoke a strange language that the people could not understand.

You look lovely in your costume and in the nail paint. I hope your bf was pleased as well. ;)

Haha, I was a schoolgirl for Halloween, too. Just a regular one, though. x3

And that red nail polish looks great on you!

I'm glad you had a good halloween n____n Cause I didn't .____.'' LOL

For the fashion post, you can maybe find pictures online? Most japanese fashion brands have website. Might be easier than scanning? Just an idea n__n Can't wait to see what you have to say on that topic!

Hello~

This is the 2nd time I've run across your blog so I figured that it was a sign or something and that I should at least comment. I see that you have a ton of friends and probably don't have enough time to read/comment/whatev with all of them, but I just thought I'd drop by and say that I'm gonna add you and that it would be great if you added me back.

Anyways, my name is Molly and I live in Saitama (but like on the edge, really close to Tokyo). Your artwork is really cute!
