Oh oh ohhhh my...
LOL, I don't know why I haven't been updating my lj much. I suppose that when I did have something to say, I was too tired, and when I didn't have something to say, then well.. there was nothing to say, lol! ^^;

But actually, I've been redecorating my apartment! It was in anticipation of my new love coming over, but it didn't happen, so it's still just me enjoying the cleanliness and orderliness. But what is really nice is now that I've finally decorated, I feel as if I can really start working on WORK with a passion! It's as if one of the things hanging over my head has been cleared out, and now I feel less fuzzy... does anyone know what I mean? Now one more thing to get out of the way (but FUN!) and then I can start running full-steam!!

LET'S GO!! <---- That's how I feel right now.

Recently, thanks to the holidays in Japan, I've been able to see a few friends who came to Tokyo to hang out, and do a few things... basically it's all about the people that I love!! =^-^= And the story is best told in pictures, so here we go! I want to start cam-whoring again, really. =^___^= (I hope nobody minds! And if you do.... um, please just politely pass by silently? ^^;;;;;)

So.... PEOPLE ♥

Saturday I went to see Alice in Wonderland... FINALLY!! But it just recently came out in Japan after a big delay, and we waited until it was cheap (1,000 yen as opposed to 1,800+ yen). The first of every month is "movie appreciation day" at most theaters, and as such it's a huge discount for both men and women. Of course, the discount only applies to non-3D versions, so I've still never seen one of those new-fangled 3D movies. ^^;;;; I want to, but I just don't want to pay for it! ANYWAYS, I Loved Alice!! Specifically, I loved the visuals (not counting the White Queen's eyebrows.. I am not an eyebrows person, so it sort of hurt to look at her... ^^;;;;;;;). I was especially impressed with Alice's performance. Johnny Depp's was alright, but I thougt that he could definitely do better. But I will definitely buy the DVD. =^-^=

Before the movie, we went out to a turkish restaurant... I looooooooove turkish food. ^^ And this cool puzzle-building was across the street:

Our group.. ^^ Hannah and Sonya

Me and Eda

I had stuffed rolled-cabbage for lunch... yummy!!!

And chai tea ^^

Completely unrelated, but the next day my plans fell through, so Marianne and I went to Harajuku and indulged in ice cream to celebrate the good weather! It was a blast hanging out with her (my first time seeing her outside of a party), but the area was so packed that it ground on the nerves a little bit! I don't really like crowded spaces all that much, parties excepted!

..........!!! Darth Vader invited himself to Shibuya too, it seems! O.O This is an ad from a cell phone company, but I don't really get it. It's probably a tie-in to a tv campaign or something.

And today!! Erin, whom I love to death, is back in Tokyo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just for Golden Week, but it was SO great seeing her! Janet too!! I never get to see her either, so today was a real treat!! ♥♥♥

We went to eat at this really, really posh chinese restaurant (actually American in origin) on the 59th floor of the Sunshine building in Ikebukuro. Ooooooooooooh I LOVE THE VIEW! I was really impressed!! The food was amazingly delicious, and because it was lunchtime it was also really cheap! I tell you, lunch is the best time to go out to eat in Tokyo! (especially if you have a flexible schedule like I sort of do =D) No crowds, and even the expensive places are really affordable!

Here is the restaurant's webpage, for those who want to check it out.. definitely worth it: http://www.joesshanghai.net/

I've only been up this high in the Sunshine 60 building once before, and it was the top floor for a Tenimyu party, well over a year ago. LOL, strange memories. But I actually like the view better in the daytime, though I'll take either! ^-^

Our table:

Our view:

I am kind of growing out of the pigtails look recently, I'm not sure why.. I think it makes my head looks small.... But what other new look should I try?

Here is some of our food.... I love the ones with the scenery behind it... somehow it makes the food look more delicious (and that's hard, because it was really top-notch!)

Janet, me, and Erin ♥ LOL, I told you I am tall!

We saw this great ad at a cafe on the same floor.. XD

On the way back to the station, we made some new friends! Yay!!! =^___^= We had ice cream together.. omg Blue Seal. Shio Chinsuko (salt and cookies) ice cream brings back memories of Okinawa ♥♥

And another ad on the way back to the station.. Don't you want them? =D Well, the hats, not the actual burgers. I forget which fast-food places this was at.

I know there's not a whole lot to say, but I will try to be better at it. ^^ I have to get up in about 6 hours to meet Kimberly tomorrow morning, for a fun-filled day of flowers! I can't wait! *crawls off to bed*

PS: Later on, I will post pictures of my apartment. =^-^= Night!

You are so pretty and I always love reading your posts; they're interesting!

... What an inane comment. I apologize. Those stuffed rolled-cabbages look mighty appetizing!

Aww, there's nothing inane about this comment! I really love getting any comments, and yeah the cabbage was VERY good <3

Looks like it was a great day! The view from the restaurant is amazing, and you are right, the food looks even more delicious with the background. ;)

PS: I love Sonya's face mask. The hearts are so cute! It is impossible to find any but the blue kind here in Virginia, and I have found them to be extremely helpful in keeping my allergies under control without medicine during high pollen season. (Right now, actually.) I have gotten quite a few bizarre looks when I wear it during walks or while driving. :) Too bad the stores here do not carry masks with cute designs...

Ooh, so the rolled cabbage is from a Turkish place? Where is it located!! Looks so yummy!! I've only ever gotten to eat rolled cabbage for 給食。I want to eat it again!
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 7th, 2010 01:52 am (UTC)
Yep!! I don't remember the place location, but it was in Shinjuku. You should ask Eda, maybe she remembers? ^^

The melon and prosciutto? ham? ad is hilarious.

I think there's a Joe's Shanghai over here in New York that I've heard whose soup dumplings are to die for or rather wait over half an hour in line for. XDD The food pics are making me hungry.

Seems like the better weather is definitely beating out the remains of the winter blues/odd spring weather.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 7th, 2010 01:53 am (UTC)
Wow, are the lines that long?! Maybe you should try coming at lunch during a weekday, when most people are at work?

Lets see high pig tails instead! 8D
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 7th, 2010 01:53 am (UTC)
Okay! I am going to write these ideas down and use them in a future post ^^

Alice was my favourite character in the movie too! And yikes 1,800 yen? And I thought AUD$14 was expensive enough >.> Anyway I did see the 3D version but honestly not much was 3D-ed expect the background during the falling/chase scenes and the Cheshire Cat. I actually took out my glasses at random times out of curiosity =P My friend and I found the White Queen more creepy than the Red Queen lol

This post is ♥ the jigsaw building, the Vader ad and the melon ad =3
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 7th, 2010 01:54 am (UTC)
Yeah, movies here are so expensive!! >.

Oh, hey, you met my friend Cassie. ♥ (She's in the top right above you in the picture.)

Have you tried maybe doing something like a braided headband instead of your hair in pigtails? That's what I was doing when my hair was getting a bit too long to be manageable, and I really enjoyed it. Either that, or you could try doing French braided pigtails instead - I love the look of those, too.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 7th, 2010 01:56 am (UTC)
Yep!! She was really friendly!

Ooh, I actually have a few braided headbands ^^ I really like headbands, though it's hard to find ones that don't pull my head and give me a headache after a while..

I'm going to make a post with different hairstyles in a few days, I think! ^^

Hello, dunno if you'll remember me but I used to comment your posts quite a lot.

You look really slim in your photos.

Have you tried wearing your hair in a high side ponytail?
Or just a side ponytail, even?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 7th, 2010 01:57 am (UTC)
Of course I remember you! *^-^*

Yeah, I've been trying to lose weight/get in shape. Just a little bit to go, and then I'm ready for beach season! =D

OMG, a side ponytail.. it reminds me of the 80s. Or of Japan. XD

I am really envious of all that food right now :(. I have returned back to Osaka... to realise that I have no food in my pantry because I ate it all in preparation for going away for GW! Oops.

Anyways, glad you're having a nice break \o/.

I know what you mean about redecorating making you feel more productive and able to focus on things.

I think you'd work a half-ponytail or buns well.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 7th, 2010 02:00 am (UTC)
Half-ponytail? What is that?? I am definitely going to try the buns! ^^
