And 8 days later... lol
I have a confession.... for some days, I've been feeling more and more cheerful. It might be because I have been seeing friends a lot, have been eating delicious food, there have been a few days of good weather, or because I've been seeing someone that I just might like.

I don't want to jinx it by talking about it.. but I feel good and I just want to play that feeling up as much as possible. I feel like I can love life again, somehow. ♥

I even don't mind (too much) that the forecast predicted SNOW today. Snow in the second half of April. In Tokyo. This isn't northern Canada....... Considering that it was around 80 degrees (F) two days ago, I'm really confused. I join the entire population of Tokyo, wondering what is going on with the weather recently...

Well.. to be honest, most of my time this week has gone to the new person and/or friends. What should I call this person? Maybe M is okay....? *^-^* Other than that, I went out with Adele, Kimberly, and a few of their friends to the Arabian Rock restaurant on Wednesday... what a kick! It was so much fun, and we got out of there (thankfully) really cheaply!! Afterwards, since I had $25 worth of coupons for TGI Fridays, we headed over there and ordered one of every dessert, then attacked them all together. Bad for the body, good for the soul, I think! We ended up paying 110 yen (about $1 USD) each, in the end. =D Oooooooh love ♥

Last Saturday, I went with Lindsay, Tiffany, and Naomi to see my friend Hikaru's live in Shinjuku. I'm so impressed with how good he's gotten over the years! It's been a while since I've seen him in concert. ^^ We tried to go out as a big group afterwards, but the chosen restaurant was SO smoky that I was pretty sure I would suffocate, and we all left. Naomi ended up losing her voice, even though we had been in there less than 5 minutes, and I coud barely talk for two days afterwards. :/ On another note, I am VERY happy that it looks like Japan is going to ban smoking in public places within a few years. It's about time!!!! ♥ ♥ I can't wait to be able to socialize with people and not have to worry about my throat/clothes/skin/hair/lungs. ^^

The next day, I went to Inokashira park with Patrick and Adrian's hanami group, and ended up running into Adele and Alexis!! We had plans that night to bake blackberry pies at her house that night, but had no idea that during the day we would meet up at the same hanami party. XD;; What a small world! It was a lot of fun! After the sun went down, we baked some delicious pies and so the week began. ^^

Which takes me to today. Today I'm going to clean and then work on manga and stuff. I really, really feel full of energy today! YEAH! (Although my abdomen HURTS... oh joy, cramps of doom ^^;;)

What song are you currently addicted to?
I'm back on The Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling." ^^ It makes me feel genki when I listen to it, which is always a great bonus. ^^

What books are you currently reading?
I'm in the middle of House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, Anathem by Neal Stephenson, and one or two others that I've misplaced. I can't seem to get into any of them, for some reason. I think maybe I jus thave too much on the brain.

What’s the most enjoyable thing you’ve done today?
Well, I haven't really done anything today of note yet, so how about yesterday? Yesterday I had a nice, long date. It was good through and through, unless you count that I started my period halfway through it. o.o;;;

What is the one skill you wish you had?
I wish that I could sing well. ^-^ You guys that can, I envy you like you have no idea ^^

What’s your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Hmmm.... to be honest, I'm not into anything like that anymore, really. I just kind of enjoy what I enjoy. I guess Star Trek has and always will be one of my biggest loves. ^^

If you could ask any celebrity any question you wanted, without fear of repercussion and being assured a truthful answer, who would you ask, and what?
Mmmmmmmm.... I really can't think of anyone. ^^;; Maybe I need ot think harder?

What Web sites do you always visit when you go online?
Hotmail, Livejournal, Facebook, Twitter.. ^^Occasionally Ameba these days.

What was the last thing you bought?
I bought dessert for myself last night at the convfenience store. =D Yum!! Mango pudding... which I so cannot have the rest of this week! No more dessert!

Which fictional character would you like to be for one day?
Hmmmm... I think it would be fun to be Captain Jack. Don't tell me that it wouldn't!! =D

What book would you recommend to friends?
The Myserious Island by Jules Verne. It is my favorite book of all time, and I highly recommend it to anyone! ♥

Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?
Lately, I crave sugar like no tomorrow!! Especially chocolate, though it's probably because of the time of the month. ^^ Other times I crave things like cheese, salt, or savory things. It depends. I also crave love.. does that count? ^^

What is the best place you’ve ever been?
Int he arms of a loved one. There is no better place, no matter where you are.

What was the last meal you ate?
I ate Tonjiru soup this morning. ^^

Do you want to learn another language?
I want to become fluent in Japanese.... SO I WILL STUDY TODAY! Must. Studyyyyy.

Six things you can’t live without.
Art supplies
Something to do

Apart from your computer/laptop, what's in front of you right now?
My TV, and next to that is a book shelf full of some of my favorites ^^

What's the weather like where you are right now?
It is freezing cold and may possibly be snowing outside! WHAT?

What are you looking forward to?
Tomorrow's fish tank acceptance, Sunday's Kira-party, and whatnever my next date with M is! ^^

What are you planning to do after you finish this meme?
Start cleaning up my living room. Top to bottom! THen going to work on something, though I'm not sure what yet. I might go to the store to pick up a few things, and maybe stop at GUST to have tea and work there. It's somehow easier to work at the tables. ^^

This is kind off topic to your actual entry, but I'm curious to know what your place looks like. While... I'm sure that sounds weird, its mostly because I watched a show about how residents of Tokyo live in teeeeeny apartments... so I'm always curious because when I lived in Japan, (it was on an air base, but still), our house was big, at least from what I remember.

Anyways - I'm really happy you've been feeling more cheerful! :3

My place is big compared to most spaces thatpeople live in in Tokyo (1-br), but it is extremely tiny compared to what people live in in the US or near the Army base!

I'll post pictures of it after I eventually finish decorating it. ^^

Awesome!!! :D
Animes also show the homes to be either A. Really small, or B. HUGE so I always get curious to how their homes look.

Not such a big deal though, I'm always curious about life outside of the United States.
Thank you!

ugh omg the weather...it's worse than a rollercoaster.
in europe we have saying that april is the most willful month of all and does what it wants and you can get all 4 seasons even within a week...starting to believe that once again... =_= *FREEZES*
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on April 16th, 2010 06:48 am (UTC)
If that's true, then we are 3/4 of the way there... just have summer weather to come! I really hope that it starts to feel like summer this month!!!! <3

We've had similar weather here in Boulder, but apparently this is to be expected of Colorado. :X Osaka has some strange weather, too - it was still cold around this time if I remember correctly... I was still wearing the winter uniform, in any case.

I'm glad to hear that you've been feeling happy as of late. ♥ That's always a good thing.

oh, yes, Colorado weather is changable, this time of the year. But I am glad we didn't just slide right on in to the hot. I want a spring that is in the 60's for a while... it also gives the plants a time to actually wake up. Besides, a day or two and it will be brilliantly sunny again.

Sounds like Jamie is waking up to spring as well... Happy is good. I'll have to leave a quote I saw the other day, because it's spring after all:
"That first kiss is a cupcake-shaped grenade that explodes into springtime rain." - John DeVore
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on April 17th, 2010 12:45 am (UTC)
Oh man, I wish it was Spring!! It's still winter. It was in the 30s most of the day yesterday and even snowed!!

You like Star Trek? I wasn't aware of this. I have to ask, is ST big in Japan, do they make doujinshi and all that cute stuff for Kirk and Co?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on April 17th, 2010 12:41 am (UTC)
Oh yeah, I've watched it my whole life. ^^ In a few weeks, I have an article coming out talking about Star Trek and Japan. When I do, Ill let you know!

i actually LOVE cold weather and have never been anywhere where it's snowing, so i'm really envious of ppl in tokyo right now. haha. and actually, they say the cherry blossoms lasted longer this yr because of the strange cold weather, so at least that's good.

and that place was so smoky, it affected u guys that much!!! EHHH!! i'm also anti-smoking and i am overjoyed that they'll soon ban smoking in public places....*O*

i'm happy that u're feeling happy these days!! ^O^

arlieth on April 18th, 2010 07:53 pm (UTC)
Yeay! I'm glad that you're in a good spot ^_^ Also, I can't wait for public smoking to be restricted >_<

I do part-time work at an arcade and the imported cabinets we get from Japan are brown and gunky (even though you'd think the inside is a closed system) because the ventilation fans from the exterior of the chassis blows all the smoke and tar into EVERYTHING. Even the insides of the microswitches. o_O
blueknightfoxblueknightfox on April 18th, 2010 08:51 pm (UTC)
Japan hasn`t smacked smoking with the banhammer yet!?

book you are reading
I hope you have the color version of House of Leaves, if not you miss out on some of the meaning of the book, since certain passages are in color for a reason. Otherwise great book! Neal Stephenson is a great author too. Loved Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon.
