10/30 Tokyo Anime Festa
On Friday, I managed to drag myself out of bed in time to get to Tokyo Anime Festa before it closed. One point for me, yay! It's been so chilly that I don't really want to go out a lot, in fear of getting sick. I guess that I just don't feel that my constitution is up to it, what with being horribly depressed and sick a week ago. BUT how could I not go? It was industry day too, so there wouldn't be much of a crowd.

I am glad that I went. I knew that my good friend Adrian would be there, as well as friend Takayuki (Otakon) and Kimi-chan (Wacom). But I also ran into long-time friend Jenya! (Or should I say she ran into me?) Jenya is a pro seiyuu here in Japan, although she is Russian by birth. She's such a sweetie, and I haven't seen her in years! Although we keep in touch more-or-less, lol. You should check out her Ameba here: http://ameblo.jp/jenya I also met a lot of really great people for the first time-- I must learn to keep in touch with people better!

I didn't take any pictures aside from this one, gomen.. but Adrian took a few of me that I might post later. If you want to see pictures, ANN and Otaku2 both were taking a ton, so I'm sure that they covered it all. ^^

Last night Jenya invited me to a party with over 100 mangaka and industry people! It was great!! I got to meet some really fun people, and hopefully I can keep in touch with them. I'll write more about that later on.

For now, I am going to write tonight. I will definitely write manga tonight. I can't keep waiting any more. And maybe it will cheer me up, who knows?

Wow! Awesome! Connections connections connections!!! You never know what will lead to something, right?

I'm going to draw tonight, too. Just doujin for me but just so you know you aren't alone, lol. XD

The cold weather has no effect on whether or not you would catch a cold. :p However, your lowered immune system would have an affect, if there are other people around you with colds. Right now in Japan, though, isn't it more allergy season than cold season? Hopefully you'll be okay. :)

Congrats on the connection making party! That's always a good thing.

Mm I know, but cold makes me tired from trying to keep my body warm. Which makes me more susceptible to illness. Plus, like you said, lots of people get sick (it's the trains) and get together in a small place-- it's a recipe for disaster!

I think I actually saw that Jenya girl on TV when she was a student. Didn't know she went pro.

She looks like the woman who was on a game show about foreign otaku...but maybe not, I seem to remember them saying she was from France...But then again, my Japanese isn't really all that good either. lol

Actually I've been trying to grow my hair out because it used to be really different. For only about a month I've had this style, lol.

This is random. I know you've probably answered this question before, but I can't seem to find the post where you did. What program did you use to go over to Japan to teach? I'm looking into it and I figured a first hand review would be good. Thanks!
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on March 29th, 2010 02:54 am (UTC)
Oh, it wasn't a program. I found a job is all, which anyone who speaks english natively can do.
Miss Milliemillie_monster on March 29th, 2010 03:01 am (UTC)
Oh ok. I didn't know if you went through JET or AEON or something like that.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on March 29th, 2010 04:44 am (UTC)
Ahh, but I wouldn't call AEON a program or anything. JET though, is sort of kind of like a program, but more like a good job, I guess? Actually I worked for NOVA, but they went bankrupt a few years ago and sold the company. I doubt they're hiring anymore. But there are way better companies to work for that's for sure!
Miss Milliemillie_monster on March 29th, 2010 02:03 pm (UTC)
Is there any company you would reccomend? (Sorry for so many questions!)
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on March 29th, 2010 03:04 pm (UTC)
I'm sorry, I'm not really an expert. I recommend looking around at eikaiwa instead, they should be able to help.
