It's non-alcoholic, yo~~♪
I still have to get back in the habit of taking pictures!! I guess that it comes with being tired all of the time, that I just don't have the energy to find my camera. Maybe I should start putting it into the front pocket of my bag!! But I do have a few pictures to share!! ^__^

Yesterday, after I finished the very last of the MUSTDO errands during this time off (and this means that I'm niow officially on vacation for a few days!), I went over to Ikebukuro. There is a new electronics store that just opened, and I heard that they had sales on everything, so I thought that I might go and pick up the new Ipod touch.. Despite that I want apple to just stop making computers, I actually am really interested in this product ^^;;; But while the signs said SALE SALE SALE!, the prices were actually the manufacturers suggested prices. The same prices that everyone has.. (aka 30,000 yen for a 32gb) How is that a sale, exactly? They did say that they would match anyone else's prices, but I checked and can't find it for any cheaper anywhere else. Sad. T-T But I just don't want to pay that much.. it's the principle of the thing. And who doesn't like a good deal? ^^ (not to mention that I don't actually need one) So anyways....!

After that I met up with Aloni and Michele and went to the prison-themed restaurant, The Lockup! (http://r.gnavi.co.jp/g528911/)

Maybe it's because they redid the interior recently (It does resemble a giant prison, but you don't get handcuffed or anything), but I wasn't overly impressed... It was kind of barren (not that it's a bad thing to have less people in a restaurant.. that means we only had to deal with 20% death-by-secondhand-smoke). But it wasn't all that I was expecting, really. I might head to the one in Shibuya sometime to see if it's any better!

After we found our way through the mirror-horror (sort of) maze that led to the entrance, we were wanded by a girl in a Reno-911-style booty-shorted police uniform. She was actually pretty hot!! Apparently there was something strange in my bag (lol), so two of us got bracelets that supposedly would explode if you take them off. XP

I had heard that you are handcuffed as you enter the restaurant, but I guess that's no longer the case. T-T

Aloni took this picture of me, lol.. It's so bright but there was no flash!

Aloni laughing at her sister. We were squished into this TINY prison-celll... which was a good thing, because apparently once per hour there is a "breakout" where people in monster masks roam the halls and create chaos, and cute girls in booty shorts come and inspect us with laser guns, lol!

The free appetizers were pretty, though the taste not so much..

I don't drink, so this is just juice.. I think it was mango, pineapple, and orange? I also had two other drinks (in beakers as well).. One was Coffee + milk + something else I can't remember, and the other was green apple syrup + soda.

This is actually dry ice in some colored liquid ^^

The dessert platter that Aloni ordered ^^ Honestly, the cool drinks were all alcoholic, unfortunately. It's too bad! I really wanted to drink out of tiny test tubes and stuff!!

This is totally cam-whore, but I love mirrored halls like this one on my way out! Maybe I should make one of these in my apartment?? How cool is that!

Michele filming Aloni in Ikebukuro train station ^^

This is from Monday, when I was filming for Pop'n Press! On my way home, I passed near Tokyo Tower and it was blue! So pretty! I wonder why..

A few days ago, I bought a lightbulb almost as big as my head!

And for fans of Aiba... any of those Aibas out there XD

Ahhh, today I mainly slept and ate. I'm not sure what happened! And now it's 2am and I can't sleep. I suppose that I will read a little bit of Fushigi Yuugi and try to go to sleep. I really want to have a few productive last days before work starts again!! So I'd better rest up!!

PS: If anyone knows of any Ipod touch sales in Tokyo, let me know! I'm thinking a 32gb for ¥25,000 or less, or a 64gb for ¥30,000 or less ^^ Also if you know of any place to get a new Nintendo DS for less than ¥ん12,000 let me know too! ^^ Online is okay, but I'd rather in a real store so that I know for sure what I'm getting!

Tokyo Tower is randomly different colors sometimes... :o

Also, if you want an iPod for less than ¥25,000 (or 250 dollars, as the case may be) find someone in America (maybe a family member?) you can ship this to! :D

Thanks, but I only want a new one, not a used one! ^^ Plus, shipping it from overseas would take too long. No instant-gratification, no fun!

Crazy-themed restaurants/bars seem to be one of Japan's specialties. :) You guys look like you're having so much fun!

Odd question maybe, but... how much public wireless coverage is there in Tokyo?

I have an actual iPhone (first and only cellphone I've ever had) which I use 99.9999% for the data (i.e., internet things). The big win is that I can use the internet WITHOUT needing to be in a wifi hotspot - I can do internet over the cellphone lines.

With my laptop, I have to find wireless. This is not too bad in my own town, but when I'm on vacation it seems I'm always having to find the public library.

When I go to Japan, of course, my phone will essentially be a iPod Touch (unless there's some magic roaming arrangement between AT&T and SoftBank but I kinda doubt it, though I suppose I should check) so it will be all about the wireless again.

Though still, not hauling around a whole laptop is definitely worth it!
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 5th, 2009 05:26 pm (UTC)
I have never had to use it, so I have no idea what the wireless free internet access is like here ^^; I am hoping that I can find a way to work it with my usb router to log into my emobile account. I think that they have a gadget for it here.

If you are going to go with Softbank, you should just buy an iphone through them or see if you can connect the one that you have.

Oh wow, they really have changed The Lockup, I don't remember anything moon-related when I went. I love it there though, their omusoba was really good. XD

And I think the 64gb one is new, and iPods don't tend to have major sales until the new generations are just about to come out, so you might have some trouble getting one lower than 30,000. Are you looking for the DSi, or just a regular DS Lite?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 6th, 2009 01:31 am (UTC)
A regular DS Lite would be fine. It has to be a cute color, though!

I had set my limit at 12,000 two years ago, and so far the cheapest that I've been able to find is 12,900 at Don Quixote. Somehow nobody has it cheaper (even used!), which is something that I have a hard time fathoming. I feel like I'm missing something!

Wah >.< I really want to visit Japan now. But instead I'm heading over to China for this class that is offered at my school i-i. Which means using my money for Japan for this anyway. I have to ask, is it really expensive visiting Japan?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 6th, 2009 01:32 am (UTC)
Depending on where you are, it would cost aboout the same to get to Japan as it would to China, but it is a LOT more expensive to stay here. China is dirt cheap!
Mewgokumew2 on November 5th, 2009 06:22 pm (UTC)
I can probably find you a new 32GB iPod Touch on eBay for around 25000 yen ($276). Let me know if you'd like me to get one for you and I can get it and bring it over later this month since most of them don't ship outside the U.S. Same with NDS Lite. Let me know what color you want and I can get one for you.

Btw, were you still planning on making that order and sending it to my place?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 6th, 2009 01:33 am (UTC)
I'm probably not going to make the order (though not sure... I'll let you know if I do!)

Actually, I wanted the Ipod before Monday, so I can have it when I go to work (since my laptop is in the shop). But I might take you up on the DS! I'll look around and see what I can find! ^^

i'd love to go there:3.

just a quick question, you get great pictures form your camera even though its a point and shoot so i'm dying to know what camera it isXD.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 6th, 2009 01:34 am (UTC)
It's a Canon IXY. ^^ I really love it, it takes great pictures, even though for some reason there are a lot of battery problems.

Who knew prison fare was so chic? ^.~

Agh! I miss Fushigi Yugi! I used to read it all the time when I was a kid.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 6th, 2009 01:35 am (UTC)
I watched all of the anime when I was in High SChool, but until now I had only read a few volumes of the manga. It's really interesting, I can't wait until they release more in the collector's editions!

You guys went!!! without meeeee... well, the only one of those type restaurants I've been to is that Arabian one with Jill and Rynn and I really didn't care for it. BUT. I still want to go to the vampire one, just because... BLOOOOD!

The Tower was pink when I went by there a couple of weeks ago with Adele, Alita and William! I was so excited because OMG giant pink ... tower... but we were in a rush so I wasn't able to take a picture of it in that manifestation.

The new jacket looks GREAT on! Love it!!! I need a new winter jacket too but I'm waiting until I lose a couple more pounds - then it can be a reward!

and yeah, it's camwhoring but the shots in the mirrored hall look really cool so it's all good ♥

Enjoy your free time!!! I am gonna be slaving away all weekend and hopefully get most of the translation done...
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 6th, 2009 01:38 am (UTC)
Gomen! We went on a whim. I went to Labi, and they were like "Let's go eat!" And I was like "Oooh let's go to the Lockup!" and somehow it happened, lol. It was really expensive, though.. (they don't tell you about the table charge) But let's go to the one in Shibuya sometime!

Do you want to come with Adele and William and me tomorrow? We were talking about going to the Vampire cafe!! I have volunteering and W has work, but sometime after that! Still haven't planned the time down yet because I was going to ask a few more people (you!). What time are you free?
.andweewoo on November 5th, 2009 10:10 pm (UTC)
Ahh, Shibuya Lock-up still handcuffs people. Well, they did last time I went there which was last month. With nice sexy cops in thigh-high boots and shorts.

Can't help you with the DS situation. DS' are still expensive here in Japan surprisingly. They've been at about 120$CDN in Canada for a couple of years now. Do you just want a DS period, or do you want a DSi? And can you go used or do you want new? I helped a friend get one in August at the Book-Off in Yoyogi-Shinjuku. It was in fantastic condition and it was 11980Y.

Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 6th, 2009 01:41 am (UTC)
I hope they still do! I'll have to go and check it out! At this one, it said that they had changed in October, so it could be that the Shibuya one changed too, right after you went or something. I hope not!!

I don't know anything about a DSi. Is it any different than a DS? I've found new ones at Don Qixote for 12,900, but I'm still hoping to shave off that final 900, lol. I wouldn't pay more than 10,000 for a used one, but I will definitely have to check Book Off, thanks! I never thought that they would carry something like that!

woaaah lightbulb!

restaurant looks pretty amusing...I saw pictures of another friend who went to the shibuya one...didn't look that much different though although I think it's smaller...? I could be mistaken though.

*huggles jamie*
btw are you available on christmas?
I was hoping to cook a christmas dinner for everyone :D

that is if I can get there in time because my airline is currently deciding whether or not to go on strike when I am supposed to fly out

Just passing through; I live in Tokyo too. :) http://kakaku.com/item/K0000057670/ There's iPod Touches for around 25000 listed here. A lot of places on there are online only, but there are a few brick-and-mortar stores as well if you didn't want to buy online.
