Cold gyoza?!
Err, that's right.... cold gyoza. Seriously.

Trying to catch up on the posts that I've been wanting to write but haven't had time to (this is a recurring theme these days, lol), last week sometime (err, when was that?! Not a clue..) I went with Kira-chan and Ulrike to check out the cold gyoza fair at Gyoza museum in Ikebukuro namco town.

Errr... while I HIGHLY recommend Gyoza museum (they have a good variety and the setting is great!!), I can't say that cold gyoza really wasa a winner... ^^;; I had gyoza shaved ice, and... well, afterwards I wish that I hadn't. I kind of assumed that it would be sweet (am I the ONLY person who has ever made gyoza and put chocolate or strawberries in the middle? Certainly not... o.o;; right?), but what I got was.. well, regular gyoza, on ice. If that's your thing, then go for it! But I prefer mine piping hot unless they're filled with chocolate and strawberries. :3

some pictures...Collapse )

And just in case you want to go: http://www.namja.jp/gyoza/event/account/event10.html

Ahh this is one of the reasons I want to live in Japan..
The fooooood....I've never tried anything like that stuff, over here in the states; I'm so jealous for some of that. ;) lol But I think I'll take all of your opinions in saying that cold gyoza is gross.
Whatever goyaza tastes like.

Gyoza is actually chinese food. You should be able to get it in pretty much any chinese restaurant in the us-- especially buffets! They're usually called pot-stickers or something like that, though. There are a lot of different names for them.

I absolutely love gyoza! I also just love Japanese food on the whole. I think filling gyoza with chocolate or strawberry is a great idea. I would love to try those :) Thanks for this. Take care.

That shaved ice gyoza sounded horrible from the first time I laid eyes on it. The things people create in Japan....

Oh my. I never ever even IMAGINED cold gyoza. Luckily enough, I never thought of making a soup out of Wasabi either! I may have to make that at work sometime! =D

there are things that just have to be eaten hot, and things that just have to be eaten cold. I understand you when you say you need hot gyoza!

Shockingly to me everything looks good, the shaved ice one looks interesting too. ^_^

Wow. So much neat stuff. So much to try. Awesome.
Thanks for the pics.

The thought of cold gyoza kind of makes me queasy. The other stuff looks very good, though! ;A;

Im gonna have to drag my roomies there... everything looks so delicious! Although I dont think I could easily stomach cold gyoza... and certainly not shaved ice gyoza!!! (really, wtf??)

But it'd all be worth it for the ice cream.
