I saw this in a department store on the way through yesterday. Backwards Onigiri. Whole fish wrapped around a rice ball-- Would you eat it?? I didn't, but I kind of think that I.. might. Maybe.. 5 years ago, I definitely would not have eaten it, but now..

I also found this Sakura pie, which I didn't try because I think that it might be pickled.. And today, I found these sakura wagashi, which I did try! Some were good, some were bad.. In particular, the sakura monblanc and the sakura doriyaki (not pictured) were YUM!

But today coming out of the sweets shop, I dropped and broke my camera... It still takes pictures, but the screen is broken. T____T What do I do? I don't have any money because of the forced move. This really, really sucks. If only being a manga assistant actually paid well.. *sighs*

My lifeline, my camera. I'm so sad.

At least I still have one of these left... They're AMAZING. DELICIOUS. OH SO YUM ♥ Now if only I could find a place that sells them anymore, but it seems that now that Valentine's day has come and gone, they're no longer on the shelves. (Although I got this one free... thank you to some great tenipuri fan!)

Btw: Some good advice for everyone: http://www.oprah.com/article/spirit/emotionalhealth/ss_omag_200710_restart

Why wouldn't you eat them--are they bad-smelling or something?

I'm sorry your camera broke. Good luck getting a new one--hopefully if nothing side-swipes you, you'll be able to! In the meantime, I suppose the cellphone camera will have to suffice...

It's a cultural thing, for sure.. To someone who didn't grow up eating whole fish, the thought of eating a fish head is pretty repulsive. I'm still not over it. I don't think that I'd ever want to eat one... x.x;;

Sorry about your camera!

Backwards Onigiri...probably not on my to-eat list ^^"

Aww that really sucks about your camera :( How long have you had it for?
But a good thing is you were able to go home to that AMAZING chocolate, it's the original comfort food :)

It's about 4 years old and it's definitely worse for the wear in general. I was planning on replacing it soon, but it turned out to be a bad time. -_-;

Ahhhh I have to wait to get paid, and then use part of my moving money. But I suppose that I'll live.. -_-;

I'd try them just for the experience XD

aw...the sakura themed food looks so goood

I wanted to say at least SOMETHING intelligent in this comment but I forget...I fail T.T

oh man, sorry about your camera....

backwards onigiri sounds....what's the point of eating fish wrapped rice if I could just have the fish LOL, but the concepts is cool...but certainly it's not as pretty as onigiri!!!

Oh and thanks for the link. I'll remember to drink water in the morning because I'm always tired when I wake up!

Is your camera under warranty? Find out (maybe via a friend) what is covered under your warranty, and see if you can claim it under that ^^

*goes back to preparing for the expo I'm attending this weekend, and ponders over the possibility of getting the organiser to get Konomi-sensei to appear as a guest at the expo >_> *

But, I just don't kind of get it.
Sakura like, a lot of flowers into a mass and... then into a really sweet/cute looking dessert?

*hugs* I just read all this week journals.
Fight-Oh! :3 *chu*

Look at the bright side of being a manga assistant; you're collecting exp for starting your own manga! That'll be awesome!

Saw you on the spotlight.

I do have to say... I probably would want to try those fish wrapped rice balls. I don't know why, but "weird" food tends to appeal to me in some way and this is not as weird as some other things that I've been tempted by. They actually look pretty tasty (though I wonder how they keep the cooked fish from spoiling).

Btw, nice to meet you. :-)

Chocolait how-to
Backwards Onigiri? Each to their own, I guess. Personally: ick. Sorry, but ick.
Yeah, that was nice and intelligent. XD The real reason I commented was that, having taken a look at the choc-o-lait sticks (and not being able to read any of the writing)I remembered that I'd come across a how-to for something similar, here: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/homemade_chocolait_sticks
I hope that helps. I've made these, and they certainly are very nice! And easy to customise with liquers, flavourings etc. My favourite is white chocolate and coconut at the momnet.
BTW, awesome blog. LJ spotlight for the win, huh? XD

Yuum, Sarumon onigiri (Salmon rice balls). I really miss it over there, and the food.
Sorry about your cam! D:! I KNOW THE FEELING!
