As we are ushered into a new age..
"With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children' s children, that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end. That we did not turn back, nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon, and god's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations."

Minus the references to "god", which is arguably unconstitutional.. it was a fitting end to a great speech. I really do have high hopes for you, Obama. And I hope that you deliver upon them in the next four (or eight) years.

Equality. I long to see more of it in America. And what shows up in America, will slowly trail around the rest of the world. For better or worse (quite often worse), America is a world leader, and where we lead, we are often followed. Let's lead it for the better, and help in some way to create a world that is better for everyone, not just for our own citizens.

I long for the days where I can choose to marry a woman, if I so choose to. I long for the day when someone from Mexico (for example) can come and live in the US in peace, if they so choose. I long for the day, one day, where we face the galaxy, the universe, and what lies beyond with a united front. Not just as America and France and England and Japan and Brazil (etc), but as Earth. When we eliminate poverty and famine and open up borders in help and not only choose, but want from our hearts to help people in need the world over. When we really, finally create the utopia that gives everyone the opportunities that they deserve, and realizes life for the wonder that it can be. I will do my best to work for that purpose ♥

Obama, I hope that you help us all make friends, the world over. That is my hope. And I will do whatever I can to help make it happen♥ ♥ ♥

Sounds like the future earth described in Star Trek! :)

It should be easier to move to the united states. After helping someone go though the process I can attest it is a giant pain in the ass and takes way too long.

I do not think just anyone should be able to walk across the border, but there needs to be less restrictions.

Yeah, basically the future Earth depicted in Star Trek is the one that I'm striving for. <3 It is a good role-model, I believe. ^^

Mmm, I am personally of the belief that we should be one Earth, not individual countries, therefore any borders are not supposed to be there. As a citizen of Earth, anyone has the right to live where they want to live. It will take a long time before that kind of situation is able to be realized though, I believe.

The one Earth idea is good. The problem then becomes, who gets to decide the laws. I hope it is not the USA.

A standard currency would be nice. :)

I like the idea of a standard currency as well. As well as a standard language (taught to all as a basis for world communication, though I would never want any other languages to die out or never be used. Language is so beautiful, and multilingualism is something that should be promoted ^^).

I think in that case, something similar to the House of Representatives would be best, a ruling council with each country (where country functions similar to a state in the US or a Province in Canada). Possibly eventually with a "president of Earth" type title when we are all ready. ^^
