Gyoza Stadium = WIN
Gyoza it is! XD;;

If you've never been to Gyoza Stadium in Ikebukuro Sunshine City (Namja Town), then seriously, you NEED to go! Everyone needs to go!! I can't recommend it enough!!!!

Cheese gyoza. Curry soup gyoza. Jalapeño gyoza. Shark fin gyoza. Need I go on? They carry all different kinds of gyoza in the little shops in Gyoza Stadium! It's set up to look like ancient Japanese stalls, and despite the huge crowds, it's a great ambience. I really wish that I could go every week, because I definitely would. =D;;

Then there is Ice Cream Town, and how many more I can't even name =D;;

Then of course, there is Ice Cream Town, which is the home of such delicacies as Viper-flavored ice cream... You know you want it!

These were cheese gyoza (cheese inside)

My very favorite: cheese-and-meat-sauce covered gyoza!!! Mmmmmm ♥

Mmmmmmmmmm these were crab meat shao-long(?) gyoza! Mmmmm!!

Butter and garlic gyoza! Mm!

This shop's name is "Big Man".... ^_^;;

Maybe it's just me, but... I thought this was a little bit racist? Oh Japan... ^^;;;;;;;;;;

Errr.....

Lindsay tries chocolate fondue! Mmm!

Okay now the ice cream journey (none of which I tried, since I lack money.. but one day!!)..

Uhh, double-cheese ice cream. But, isn't one bad enough? ToT;;

Potato ice cream..

Cream cheese flavor...

Sea urchin flavor.... ^^;;;;;;

"Scent of a cow" ice cream. Wtf? Well actually it says "scent of milk" but it's funnier in the first one. And still, wtf???

Salt flavor..

Beans flavor! ^^;

Garlic, oh yes, garlic... ^^;;

Ecco.... I don't know what that means!

This is garlic, and uh... mint? Not totally sure.

Indian Curry flavor! (yum??? Err...)

Cow tongue.... flavor.. WHY?

Viper-flavor! ^^;;

Pearl flavor... what flavor is that exactly?

Miso-ramen flavor..

Shark fin flavor..

Rice-flavored! (not so bad, right?)

Silk-flavored..

More salt-flavored..

Pike-flavored (yes, the fish...)

Squid-flavor..

Octopus-flavor.

Beef ribs, mmmm.. ^^;;

Crab-flavor..

Tofu-flavor... not so bad-sounding..

Soybean-flavor..

Chicken wing... -_-;;

Baked eggplant flavor.. ^^;;

Beer-flavored ice cream seemed to be popular..

Mmmmm yuzu kit-kats in a prize machine! I want to try these one day if I can find them in the normal store!

I ended up having gelato... Tropical, strawberry, and raspberry-chili flavor! Yum!!

Beer-flavored caramel... not for the kiddies! ^^;;

A creepy lantern in part of the stadium..

LOL and this is on a wrapper from American food! Engrish.. XDXDXD;;

This says "BJ Low Chest"... can you see why I HAD to take a picture? XD;;

This one should be obvious XD..

And have some retarded purikura! XD;;

That's all for now! XD;;

Namja town!! I haven't gone there since ages!

I must visit this gyoza place if I get to go back next year. Gyoza is absolutely my favourite food ever, and I can't imagine any better way to ruin the fun of my local gyoza and leave it seriously lacking to me. Cheese and meat sauce covered.. Sounds wonderful..

SO GOOD FOR MY EYES. THANK YOU.

Actually congitas is not a Japanese thing, that stuff is being sold in Portugal too (and it's good even though the logo it's kind of weird XD)
akibareakibare on December 25th, 2008 10:23 pm (UTC)
What is it? I've never seen those.

Miharuru ( ミハルル): Jin!Lumberjack!miharuru on December 25th, 2008 11:50 pm (UTC)
Well I think there is some variety but it's mainly chocolate cookies or mini doughnuts O:

What is congitas?

"Horny substance flexible cream" will fix calluses or corns or other stiff keratin-esque places you maybe have on your skin. Bonus, it says it has urea in it...

But... must right-click save to show the office the interesting English :D

That place looks awesome. Here I like to make gyoza for parties, usually we get several people together to do the cooking and then eating. Back when I subscribed to Orange Page (housewife magazine) they had a gyoza issue, it's got some interesting ones but not cheese...

I did go to a takoyaki and go-playing party at a friend's house (so, yeah, we had to make the takoyaki seeing as it's Illinois and all) and someone had been back to Japan recently and got 東京限定! Shoyu-flavor Kit-Kats. They were white, we couldn't tell so much shoyu flavor in it but they were good. Funny thing though the one freshly arrived guy (only moved here about a month ago) didn't know that Kit-Kat isn't originally Japanese. But, they do get a way wider variety of flavors...

Interesting to see they say ネスレ now, too. Used to be ネッスル.

I do wish there were the green tea variety in the office vending, though. Man, that would rock.

All that cat stuff looks really cool.

That is truly Japanese right there. I want some Gyoza.... beef, with garlic. mmmmm
Kira_Shadowkira_shadow on December 25th, 2008 11:09 pm (UTC)
mhh~
we had some original family gyoza yesterday for our christmas dinner X3

we should make some together when I'm over?
it's really easy =3 (and you could stuff it with whatever you like~)

mh the ice-creams...I used to think most of them were really weird but actually in 5-star cooking there's some rather interesting recipes and dishes with those... I encountered mustard-dressing ice-cream with some kind of salad and stuff a while ago...

...cooking will never cease to amaze me...
=3

I've had tofu-flavoured ice cream. It's good! And you can get yuzu-flavoured KitKats at the combini. I love them. <3

Oh wow, that gyoza place sounds really interesting. So many different types of gyoza!
And the ice-cream place too! I can't believe how many strange flavours there are...
Salt flavoured ice-cream reminds me of KHII (sea salt ice cream) >
bang.bang.korpsy on December 26th, 2008 01:11 am (UTC)
ecco la gelato means 'Here is the icecream'

but the way they wrote it is kinda grammatically incorrect so I guess they just put it there to make it more 'authentic italian' lol
Christina: Christmas Harley.totenkopf on December 26th, 2008 02:15 am (UTC)
Chocolate fondue! That looks good~ as well as the Gelato you decided to have. Out of all those flavors though, The miso-ramen and or pearl doesn't sound too bad! & wow, potato flavored ice cream! I would never imagine.

pratz: alto_pratz_ on December 26th, 2008 03:06 am (UTC)
Food! Give me more! XD

For some reason, cheese and jalapeno gyoza just don't sit well with me ^^;;;
Vickytoldtojoinlj on December 26th, 2008 03:26 am (UTC)
Lawl, racism~ xD

I had heard of the viper and beer flavored ice cream, but I still got a kick out of the other ones you posted. Good stuff.

I have tried garlic ice cream XP Don't try it. Trust me.
Kathykisa829 on December 26th, 2008 05:46 am (UTC)
The gyoza looked sooo good! You're making me hungry!

Those ice cream flavors sure looked...interesting! I definitely would love to check that place out myself one day!

My personal favorite of the Engrish was the "Horny substance flexible cream" XD
Williamgenkischuldich on December 26th, 2008 09:46 am (UTC)
Looks good... I'll have to try it. I've tried cheese (Gorgonzola) icecream before and it's pretty good. Like strong cheesecake, really.
hagelschadenhagelschaden on December 26th, 2008 09:53 am (UTC)
Those ice cream flavors are just strange. But I would try it xD
And pink chocolate? Yes please!
And Horny substance fexlible cream? what a name*lol* xD
(Anonymous) on December 26th, 2008 11:01 pm (UTC)
That is gyoza heaven.

Everything looks so tasty...i'd have to be rolled out of there.
chibicerebuschibicerebus on December 30th, 2008 10:30 am (UTC)
Mmmmmm Gyoza! I want to eat there. My mouth is watering at the pictures.

Those ice creams are weird. I heard of some of those flavors from an article about the strangest ice creams from around the world. I wish I still had the link. On that list was the most unappealing flavor I ever saw... horse with chunks of flesh in it. That's my limit, I'd never willing eat that. ^^;
デスsurealistic_des on January 1st, 2009 05:43 pm (UTC)
that beats Utsnomiya's gyoza....h-hahha , kinda funny when Utsnomiya is meant to be famous for the gyoza ;D

I haven't been around Ikebukuro much, >: I hope to do that some time before uni begins again :3
