Sakuras are over, spring is HERE!! =D
I hope nobody's forgotten me!! ^_^; I feel really bad, I have been so absent from not only lj, but real life these last few weeks!! Getting a hold of me, unless you're working on a doujinshi with me (only one person) or live with me (two people and a cat), then getting a hold of me is probably like pulling teeth. ^^;; Well, okay probably nobody wants to get a hold of me that badly, right? *looks around*

Actually, truthfully, I've been working on a doujinshi and other projects, and as the due date for the printers is in two days (it's a LOT harder than I thought it would be!!), I've holed myself up ever since last Thursday (it's currently Monday night, or I guess Tuesday morning) trying to finish my pages. As I have found that my attention wanders super easily when I'm not drawing my own characters (is that telling?), it's hard. But I've tried to take a step away from modes of communication like email, phone, livejournal in order to concentrate on the goal! Of course, all that really means is that I've been watching a LOT more YouTube. ^^;;

-------------stupid videos FTW---------------

Parody of Arashi's "We can make it!!"
I was laughing so hard when I watched this! I'm not a Johnny's fan really, but MatsuJun is quite the sexy, and the only reason I know who Arashi is is because after watching the Kimi wa Petto drama a few years ago, I logged in and researched this boy for hours. LOL good times! I seriously recommend Kimi wa Petto btw! Hmm, I wonder if I made a video like this, people would believe me because I live in Japan and, y'know, am in the nihongo know. Wow, I have not had enough sleep, I can't believe that I typed that.. Oh yeah, just in case, that's not what they're really saying in the video (though it's much better than the original!!)..

Tieria-san ga Madleh de hetakoita you desu
At first, I was like, "NO! I WILL NOT LAUGH AT A YOSHIO KOJIMA PARODY!!" But I did... It's probably only funny to Gundam 00 fans who understand japanese and know who Yoshio Kojima is.. But I guarantee that if you do know, even if you don't like Kojima, you will laugh!! ^_^; (PS, this is him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-iirT78fNw&feature=related Oh how easy it is in Japan to be famous. XD;;)

Lockon's Not Wearing Underwear Today
Yeah......

Gundam 00 x Azumanga Daioh
I want to make one..... LOL this opening brings back memories. I never did finish watching that series! I should get the DVDs some day and watch it through. =D;;

Gundam 00 x Kodomo no Jikan
Parody of the ending!! Gaaaaaaaah you couldn't have made it better than to parody my current favorite anime. ♥♥♥♥♥ (BTW everyone should watch KoJi!!! It's sweet and hilarious! And naughty... *coughs* And this is what my doujinshi is of...)

Gundam 00 Caramelldansen
I know I knooooow, but it's really well made!

Death Note Caramelldansen
I know everyone's seen a million Caramelldansens (I want to make one!!), but this one his hilarious!! If you can read japanese, do it because it's funny! Or stay for Light's hilarious expressions! XD;;

Death Note Sponge Pants
It's even funnier if you hate Spongbob!! XDXD;;; I somehow feel validated..

CHOCOLAAAAAATE
Death Note's Mellow x Chocolate. Oh yes. =D

Light's new LOL
I... do not have words for how funny this was to me. =D You too? XDXDXDXDXD;; (Btw, I love Light..)

The Internet is for Porn (Disney)
Much MUCH funnier than the original version!! I mean, Disney!!!

Estate Agent
Oh, it's just the pervasive sense of evil and foreboding.. and the dead clown in the garden..

Evolution of Dance
Everyone's probably seen this already.. but in case you haven't, you need to see this!! Well, especially Americans. ^o^;; Why is it that dancing can make almost anyone hot??? =D;; Seriously, it's like my childhood in one skit! XDXD;;

Alright, that's enough.... I just watched most of those videos over again and looking in vain for funny parodies of Hannah Montana. Uh, there went two hours. ^^;; In any case, I've been meaning to post these pictures of the Sakura in my neighborhood and around Yokosuka military base (where we went a few weekends ago to enjoy the festival) for a while now, so here they are first!!

My neighborhood while the sakuras were just starting to fall:

This is nothing compared to the petals that would eventually fall!! = D

Contrasting the gorgeous nature and not-so-gorgeous 99-yen shop. ^^

I went to see CLOVERFIELD finally!!! ♥ I want to see it again... Ok, this was a few weeks ago, it reminds me how long it's been since I've seriously posted in my journal. ^^;;

A panorama of Yokosuka bay. ^___^

http://namutaku.net/livejournal3/hts_18.jpg

Isn't this cool? I think that James knows the reason behind it, but I'm kind of clueless since we didn't have the time to stop. I really need to look into that the next time that I get over that way!!

Old Japanese war ship. =D

And the Japan naval flag. =D

Yes, the statue of liberty was on a building..... err....

Is it just me, or is this empty platform a little bit creepy for you too? There was seriously nobody there and you'd think that it would have been full too due to the festival going on! o.o;;

You tend to prefer short-term pleasures and rewards over long-term consequences. You like crowds but sometimes feel overwhelmed by them.  Sometimes you feel like you need some privacy and time for yourself. You are eager to try new activities, travel to foreign lands, and experience different things.  You find familiarity and routine boring, and will take a new route home just because it is different. You are mostly a compassionate person, however you prefer to make objective judgments when possible, however you are willing to take credit for good things that you do but you don't often talk yourself up much. You strive hard to achieve excellence. Your drive to be recognized as successful keeps you on track toward your lofty goals. You often have a strong sense of direction in life, but may sometimes be too single-minded and obsessed with your work.

I think that it was pretty close, with a few little mistakes here and there.. It's weird how a test like that can judge what kind of personality you have..

Well, anyways... Sorry for not answering people quickly. I think it will be like that for a few days longer as I finish up my doujinshi and start work again.. But I want to start posting again! I've really missed it! By the way, Nessie came back the morning after she went to the vet and she's doing fine. ^^ She has a hilarious giant collar (for a week-- until tomorrow! XD) to keep her from licking her stitches, though of course she managed to pull one out already. ^^;; But she's been a sweet little kitty, and I really hope that she stays that way!! I plan to take her down in the morning and have them take it off and the stitches out. I hope that it doesn't cost anything, since I'm actually negative-dollars right now..

Just a little life-update--- I start work on Thursday after more than a month's break! Yay for the health (I don't feel sick at all ever since I quit the other job, yay!), bad for the pocketbook. Despite lack of funds, I am planning to go to Anime Expo in CA this summer, so I hope to be able to meet up with a lot of people there! ^O^ I haven't been there in years!! Hoepfully my money problems will work out by then. It's right now that's pretty painful.. Also, there is some GREAT news on my first column to be published-- more details on that soon! Also more details on my space at Comic City in 2 weeks! (please come see me!) I am doing well on being more healthy as well-- some setbacks (chocolate is my major vice!!), but I have started a running/jogging routine regularly, am eating quite healthily, and have a pretty positive outlook on this year! I've kind of put everything on hold to finish the doujinshi, but I really plan to resume it immediately-- and I want to work out every day for at least 30 minutes (does anyone have a japanese PS2 that they would give me? I have an American one but it's not modded, and I have DDR but for the Japanese PS2.. help??) so that I can get a hot body™ in time for Anime Expo cosplay. =D (More on that later too!)

Since it's 2:30 am, I will have to continue this in the morning. ^.^

LOL It might be better that you don't know. =D;;; He was all the rage last year with the little kids. (and maybe this year too? Fortunately I don't work with little kids anymore =D)

Thank you! ^o^

And I was so surprised to walk down that street and it was decked out in pink!! It doesn't usually look like that, so it was a real surprise for me. =D

It really is good to see a post from you and know that you're doing well. I was actually thinking during my bike ride yesterday that I hadn't seen a post from you in awhile.

Good luck on finishing the doujinshi, but I know that you're going to do it just fine! Can't wait to see the results!

I wish that I could go to AX. I honestly thought about doing it, but since I'll be moving June 20, affording the truck, the rent, and also plane fare/con registration...I couldn't do it. Maybe we can plan a visit over the next year or so, one way or the other.

Maybe when you're done with the dj, we can catch up on Skype or AIM or something. ^_^ *hugs* Ganbatte, neesan!

Awww *hugs*

Oh man, I know how it is not to have money. I'm negative dollars right now, it's pretty dire.. I don't know how I'm going to afford Expo, but I'm going to make it happen somehow!! Somehow!!

Yeah, I want to catch up too. ^__^ Definitely after I'm done with the doujinshi ^^

wahhh your pictures are so awesome! i want to go back to Japan D: that one of the almost-empty train station is pretty creepy....i've never seen a Japanese train station that empty haha~

*o* oooo you're going to Anime Expo!! i really want to go, since i've never actually been to an anime convention, but with my schedule this summer i doubt i'll be able to go. not to mention i have no money haha my friends who have gone all tell me how much fun it is though, and the cosplaying and all the awesome stuff you can get at conventions!! RAWR. >.<

good luck with your doujinshi! ^^
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on April 22nd, 2008 10:41 am (UTC)
Aww thank you! ^__^ I try~

You should definitely go to AX if you're able to! I used to go every year, from the time that I graduated high school, until I came to Japan. It was so much fun, I really miss it. ^^
win_a_goldfish on April 22nd, 2008 01:47 am (UTC)
lucky ; ; you live in such a beautiful neighborhood! I'm so upset though, everyone's been telling me that if I go to Japan the only way I'll make it is if I'm fluent in Japanese etc etc. it's such a let down! I'm so happy knowing that it is possible!

I'll be going to Anime Expo too :P Dressed as Misa Misa/ Bou from An Cafe. I hope you'll be able to come, but it sucks that it's in LA this year Y_Y
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on April 22nd, 2008 10:43 am (UTC)
Ehhhhh? Most foreigners that come to Japan don't know much or any japanese, so I don't think that you'll have a problem. If you want to teach, that is. You definitely don't have to be fluent or even know japanese at all. It's when you want a better/different job than that that you'll run into obstacles. After all, you have to be able to speak and convince a company that you'd be better than someone who is fluent, and that can be pretty hard, understandably..

Why does it suck that it's in LA? I went the year that it was in Anaheim, and it was just as nice as Long Beach. ^^ And LA isn't that far from the beach anyways~~ As long as they have a better hall to have the masquerade in, I'll be happy!

I'm just using a simple tiny digital camera, nothing special. It's quite old too so it doesn't work that well anymore.. Anyone can take pictures like the ones that I take, with pretty much any camera. ^^

Pretty sakuras :3 my little cherry blossom tree is still in bloom ^-^ it was in bloom in the winter too hehe. It's cool that you're making a doujinshi XD good luck with that *hugs*

erm, out of curiousity, how may I get a copy of your doujin when it's finished? ^-^
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on April 22nd, 2008 10:44 am (UTC)
I'll make a post about it in my journal, so that people can order a copy if they want!! ^^ (It will probably be friends-locked since it's adult material though)

hello! just passing by...i love your photos, i keep coming back to your blog to check them out they are so beautiful!

i also have a question in regard to your manga work i hope you don't mind answering!
for your colored copic works, what sort of paper do you use?
(i know it sounds odd but ive always wondered what kind of materials mangaka use! =^^=)
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on April 22nd, 2008 10:47 am (UTC)
Awww thank you! ^__^

Mmmm for copic works, I think that it's really up to the person. There is no standard for colored manga. There is special manga paper for the black&white pieces, but you don't have to use it if you don't want to, and for colored pieces, I think that different artists use different papers. I was really surprised that there isn't a "way" of doing things, it seems to be a lot more open than that. ^^ For me, I usually use a heavy paper made for watercolors or markers, so that it doesn't bleed, but I switch brands quite often based on what I feel like trying out. ^^

Ah, that station is nostalgic. I have a recording of the "train leaving" announcement from there on my iPod :)

Also that statue of liberty too. Nice to see it's still there...

Your photos are amazing as always! You should make a book of all your Japan photos, they are all super nice! I bet you could sell a lot of books. LOL at the chocolate video XD
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on April 22nd, 2008 10:48 am (UTC)
Awwww thank you, Val!! *hugs* I really want to keep up on writing now, so that I don't fall behind and feel so bogged-down again! ^^;;

I don't know if I have enough quality photos to make any books... but I definitely want to make one some day once I get a professional camera! ^^
