Hello from China!! ^^
I'm just dropping a quick line to say hello from China. ^^ I've been really busy sightseeing and spending time with friends, so I haven't really had the time to check up on email and things until now. Right now I'm in Xi'an and both of my friends seem to have fallen asleep for the night, leaving me some alone time with the computer. :D

So far, I guess that I've done a lot, lot, LOT of sightseeing! I saw the Great Wall last Monday, and the terra-cotta soldiers today, which crosses two wonders of the world off my list, yay!!! ^^ So far the best moment was watching some guy try to walk too far onto the ice at the Summer Palace and fall through. He was muddy up to his knees (in below-freezing temperatures) before he got out. I suppose I'm mean for laughing, but he wasn't in any danger and it was pretty funny. ^^;; My favorite place was actually the summer palace as well.

Oh, and according to the chinese government, China invented everything thousands of years before the rest of the world, and are better at everything anyways, to boot. Oh propaganda! :D;;;; But I have to give them this: Chinese food in China is a hundred times better than anywhere else I've ever had chinese food. There's not even a comparison. Mmmm!

My favorite phrase in chinese is "wo ju dao!" Or something like that.. It means "I know!!" and it's the best to say to Greg's boyfriend Shu Lei when he says something that is completely obvious.. again.

thank you for updating, I was worrying about you!!

^^ I'm sorry that I didn't update earlier. The internet at Greg's is REALLY slow, and livejournal seems to be blocked in China after all. And he's using his computer for work stuff most of the time that I'm home, so I haven't really had time to do anything other than try and load hotmail and frown at the intense slowness of it all. ;-; but now here at the hotel it's so quick!! *raburabu*

I really wish that you were here with me! It's boring going places by myself, which is what I've had to do most of the time. But at least up here in Xi'an and Harbin (we're going there tomorrow) it's the three of us so it's a lot more fun. ^^ Next time, we have to go together!! And there's a LOT even in Beijing that I haven't seen yet!! *hughug*

WOAH! Sounds like you have a great time over there! I´ve never been to China, but perhaps I go there sometime in the future - sounds really interesting and if the food is really that yummie I DEFINITELY have to try it! XD

Merry Christmas to you!! (^-^)/

you're going to spend Christmas in China eh? LUCKY. I just saw a show where the people stayed on the Great Wall.

How far did you walk on the Great Wall?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on December 31st, 2007 12:24 am (UTC)
I don't know.. not that far, because it was quite a chore walking up to it (I wish that I'd taken the tram). But it was really nice. ^^

Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on December 31st, 2007 12:23 am (UTC)
I stayed with a friend, so I can't advise on places to stay, but I really recommend seeing the Summer Palace, Great Wall, and the Forbidden City/Tian'anmen square.

LOL its wo zhi dao! :DDDD

Glad that you are having fun!

YES FOOD OMG. But I would feel better/safer eating it if there wasn't so many news about sub standarded food. XDDD Well they did invent alot of things and were advance like thousand years back, but they just got too complacent and lagged behind when the western countries caught up and became much more advance. XDD

Glad you're having a blast!

We studied the terra cotta warriors in my Arts of Asia class and I've seen a program about China on the History Channel that talked about them and all I have to say is WOW. It's just amazing that something that detailed and on and humongous scale could have been made thousands of years ago. Even with our technology today, I don't think we could replicate that feat.

Thanks for updating your journal. I'm relieved your other friends were worried about your safety too, I guess it's not just a mom thing after all. I'm glad you're having fun. I also am looking forward to your pictures. Love you!
