3-year anniversary~!
Last Sunday was my 3rd anniversary from when I moved to Japan! Um, yay!

In some ways, Japan is far less my home now than it ever has been. But perhaps that really is a good thing, because I'm treating my time here a lot more like it's a great opportunity, instead of a place to stay permanently. Well, how many more years are in the cards for me here? I have no idea. ^-^ Quite a while still, I think, depending on things. But one day I'll definitely move back to America. And hopefully things will have changed for the better by that time (gay marriage, abortion, etc ^^). I sure can't wait for the utopia that will certainly exist some day. When will that be?

Well!! I haven't posted for a few days, so I'm sure that some people (my Mom) think that I'm dead. But I've just been busy and pretty tired! The temperature went back up the last few days to the high 80s with 50% or higher humidity, and at times it was just a killer! The humidity makes such a nice temperature feel a little like torture. Whether it's that or something else, I've been sapped of energy. I was sleeping 9+ hours a day (usual is 6) and still feeling tired. I'd take naps often when I came home, too. Just so, so tired! I've started taking iron tablets again every day, and that's helping now, so I wonder if I might be anemic. Or if it's something else, I should get it checked out when I get a chance.

Last Sunday, I went over to Gin's. ^_^ She has such a small, but such a nice place! She made me play a pokemon battle game, and my Eevee's special attack looked something like a dusty fart! It was quite entertaining! We watched Scream, which I hadn't seen since I was in high school, drank, ate yummy mexican food, and best part of all-- I met Sarah, who is just as anti-smoking as I am!! <3<3<3 I've never met anyone like that, and I'm so happy to have!! *gathers resolve* It's just what I need to eventually ban smoking from the entire world!! Mwahah!! =D Part of that utopia thing and all~~~ ~_~

Well, I was originally going to America for the next 2 weeks but had to change my plans due to lack of money, so I have two weeks off of work! Yay! ^_^ I'm going to do quite a bit of productive things, and hopefully it will be just what I need to get back on track! ^^ Also, on Sunday I'm going to some Digimon event to be Melissa's photographer (she's cosplaying). I'm really excited to get to try out my skills! Ami let me borrow her great camera, which is really nice of her. I do need to save up though, so that I can get a digital camera capable of lowering the depth of field. That would be SO nice, and look so much more professional!! ^O^ Either way, I know nothing about Digimon in general, but it should still be a lot of fun! ^^

Then on Monday, I'm supposed to go paragliding!! ^O^ I've never tried this before, so I'm really excited! I hope that I get confirmation really soon, though. I sent in my payment ages back and should have made it, but it was first-come first-serve and there were a lot of people who wanted to participate *crosses fingers*.

I tried to sign up for a group that plays Taiko drums that constantly adversises in the Metropolis. But it turns out that they aren't even together anymore! (Even though they still advertise in this week's issue, when it was a month ago that I contacted them). They only referred me to places that charge money, and not cheaply. I still hope to find something fun and free/cheap, where it's mainly for the fun, not formal lessons.. wish me luck! I really want to have fun playing the taiko! I think that I have pretty good rhythm, so I might end up being a really good player! ^^

According to the Real Age Test:
Biological Age: 27
Real Age: 5.2
Average Life Expectancy: 74
Your Life Expectancy: 95.8
You an expect to live approximately 25100 more days.

LOL I'm so young! ^o^ That test was awesome! I guess that I'm taking better care of myself than I thought I was! (I am the only person my age I know that eats 3 full meals a day.. usually the biggest being breakfast ^^;;) I should exercise more though, definitely! ^O^ I wanna live longer than that ~_~

And everybody should look at this gorgeous picture: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap070918.html

It's that time of year again-- new tv shows, oh yeah! I'm such a huge tv buff.. ^^;; Let that say what it will, but I really enjoy a good show, always have. But I'll continue that later... ^^

PS: The cheese milfeuille crust pizza from Dominoes (at least in Japan. Does America have this?) is DELICIOUS. I ate way too much pizza last night, but I just couldn't help it. I've never tasted pizza in Japan that was so cheesy!!! <3<3<3<3<3 There's never enough cheese here..

DIGIMON!? I LOVE DIGIMON!!! OTL Anyway have fun at the event darling~ Also yey for two weeks off *w* That's really nice!

I can't take that test since I'm not sure on a bunch of things like health history and what not XD Yey for being so young and have a high life expectancy!!

Uwa that pic is amazing!!

Hmmmm I don't think we have anything like that over here? Dunno though so I can't say for sure XD;

I had to guess from what I know about my family's health history. But generally we're not too unhealthy as far as chronic conditions go, so I'm lucky on that. ^^ But most of the points were because of things like eating 3 meals a day and things like that, lol. It's amazing, I don't really think it has as much of an impact as they say on the test, though.

You would definitely like this crust! It's soooooooo delicious!!! <3

Yeah it's weird thinking that I've spent as much time in Japan as I did for my entire college years... o.o

Congrats on your three years.

I sure can't wait for the utopia that will certainly exist some day. When will that be?

I believe that will happen when people stop thinking only about themselves and start considering others before taking decisions and doing things. I find it doubtful it will ever happen, when I look at people. But I want to believe one day people will wake up.

I think that's what it will take, too. Everyone is selfish, even when they have the best of intentions. My friend Wally said a few times that even people who do good things, usually do it for their own benefit (it makes them feel better about themselves). I think that maybe that's what our best chance is-- that even though it's something that's aimed at making ourselves feel better, we (people) will realize that it feels the best to help other people. In the end, through trying to help others, we'll help ourselves, so to speak.

LOL I'm not surprised that you're that real age! Maybe that says something about our attitudes toward life? I'm not sure, but I'd love to think so. ^^

Ugh this heat has been awful. It's been draining me as well. By the end of classes today I was barely able to keep my eyes open.

Yeah, it is just brutal! It's odd too-- this summer isn't any hotter than the last few summers, or any more humid (it's just later in the year by about 2 months), so I don't know why it feels so much worse. It was the same with last winter. It was technically warmer than the last 2 winters, but I felt so much colder than before. It's so strange! Ohhhhh Japan!
catsluvdmb on September 21st, 2007 11:35 am (UTC)
Well, I think part of it is it's supposed to be fall on Monday, and it definitely doesn't feel like fall. It should be cooling down now, not heating up!

Also, I know for me at least, by the time classes started last year the temperatures were still warm but tolerable in a non-a/ced classroom. This year it's just as hot as it was in July, which makes teaching (and I'm sure learning) absolutely miserable. Yesterday most of my students were asleep in class, and I can't really blame them when the classroom is in the mid-90s!

Awesome!! I'm thinking of this guy, as it's in english and seems to be the cheapest: http://www.wakon.biz/english/index.html

Would you be interested in going with me? Obviously you're not beginner, but unless you're free on Thursday mornings Sunday's beginner classes are the only time that there are classes.

Biological Age: 21
Real Age: 6.5

... Well, that's how life is *dances*

Well, well, has it really been that long already? I can't believe it. I suppose I can, it makes sense, but it only seems like just last year you just arrived in Japan.

Utopia, well, might happen. Never know. Americans are getting more and more anti-religion these days, and that whole movement is causing the uproar of new policies and political climate changes.

Took the test you did:

Biological age: 25
Real age: 19.5
Life Expectancy: 79.5

Being a male is a disadvantage in more than one way :P
