Ups and downs, ups and downs..
I've been agonizing over plane tickets for days (actually, weeks) now. I obviously don't have a lot of travel experience, because it always surprises me how expensive things are. I really can't wait until I can just hop on a plane anytime I want without worrying about money! I don't think that I'll own my own plane, because it's just too bothersome to keep one up. I was telling Erin yesterday how I can't wait to be rich... it will be so much fun! Imagine travelling and not having to worry about anything but having a good time. =^___^=

Ticket prices seem to have only gone up. Even though I raised my budget a tiny bit, I still can't cope with prices that are usually over $1000. Every time I think that I found a great deal, and I'm flying at such a cheap time of year (low season), it turns out that tons of taxes = not so good a deal after all. I don't understand why prices are even quoted without taxes? Since we have to pay them, why even tell us prices before tax? I for one am really only interested in the final result.. So I'm really, really close to cancelling my trip to America after all. I thought, if I did that, I should buy myself something in consolation, only.. there's nothing that I really have a heartfelt desire for that I can buy here. I have what I want the most-- friends and family that care for me, both here and abroad. Even if I don't see them for a year more or even longer, it won't matter because I will still care for them in the same way, and they for me. The only thing that I truly want that I don't have here, is a significant other. But it's not as if that's something that I can buy..

Actually, I want a laptop and a new camera, and a sofa and tv....... but those aren't all pressing. I think that I'll just try to be frugal and see what I can actually save, for the first time in years... I don't know. At this point, I haven't decided what I'm going to do. I want to go, but I'm not one of those people that can shell out a thousand dollars on a plane ticket. Not when I have so little money as it is... as I said, when I'm rich it will feel really nice. =^-^= I'm going to go and think on it for a while longer..

On positive news, Erin invited Eda and I over to her place yesterday. We had late lunch at the Garlic restaurant, then Baskin Robbins, and finally retired to watch a ton of Heroes since Eda had never seen it. Rewatching it from the beginning, there were a lot of things that I'd missed the first time around. I wonder where I can get more information on that Heroes World Tour happening, uh, tomorrow.. I wanna meet Hiro and Mohinder!! <3

travelling is so expensive...
I saved two years worth of money for my trip PLUS I used some of the money i got from relatives for graduation on the plane tickets...the bad surprises are always really the taxes...I wonder why airport taxes are so high, really

I hope things will go well and you will be happy no matter how they will turn out to be <3

*lots of love*

Thanks Charlie. ^^ I already tried them though, and they won't take departures from outside the US. I have no idea why, but a lot of sites are like that. :/

ugh yeah that drives me crazy! Why should it even matter?

I wish I still worked for the cargo company I used to. We used to get killer discounts on airfare.

Maybe if you can wait some, why not find out about flying home in Feb? As long as you book the tickets at least a month in advance, February is usually a really cheap travel time.

I really wish that I could, but I needed to go to a convention and that was the reason for this specific travel time. I won't have any time off in February (I can't take time off of work), but if I'm able to quit my job after this year, then I'll go home for a while right afterwards-- right around March or April. I'll probably travel a lot too.

travelling is really expensive =.= i know some of my friends go on standby tickets which are quite a bit cheaper but standby tickets are unconfirmed... it depends on whether a seat is available or not. and i sure do not want to wait around the airport for hours!

True that, everything is so expensive.
Well I don't think I can help you so much with that, but maybe a little. I sent you an email before XD
Anyway I hope it works out for you!
