Gyouchuukensa = Pinworm exam!!
ぎょう虫検査. Well, I know know how to say "pinworm exam" in japanese. Let's hope I don't forget! Just in case, you know. ^.~ I feel sorry for the kids at the school I took this in. I mean, they had to wipe their butts and bring in poop samples to the nurse. How embarrassing can you get? ^_^; But yet again I must remind myself that in this country when they give physicals they require the girls to take off their shirts to measure their chests. They didn't do that in my high schools, thank god. I never would have went with it.. Well, and it's normal to bathe naked together.. Another thing that I really can't feel comfortable doing. I'm too reserved in that case, I guess.

I'm feeling better than yesterday and I made it through work and all of the errands that I set myself for afterwards, but I am completely beat because of it. No energy, at all. Tomorrow's going to be worse, because I have another list of errands, work, and a loooooong meeting. I wonder how I will last!! Thanks to everyone though, for your well-wishes. *hugs* It makes me happy to know that I have a lot of friends supporting me, no matter in how small a way. ^^

I also got to talk to my mom on the phone last night for a little while, for Mother's day. It was really nice to get to talk to her, I don't get to much because overseas prices are just ridiculous..

Well.... oyasumi!! Here is to a hopeful slow recovery!!

huh. The poor kids. I'm glad I didn't have to do that ><

Have you tried using Skype to talk to your family and friends back in the States? I got my parents to sign up for it, but it's pretty cheap to use it to call overseas instead of using a calling card.

Yeah I have that, but you have to sit at the computer and use a microphone, and I don't like that. I'd rather sit on my bed and be able to call anyone without coordinating whether we're both at home.

O.o wonders why they even screen for pin worms...is it that common over there? x_x
Oh Japan! lol so if the girls have to measure their boobs circumference do the boys have to submit to penis inspection? :P

Ewww.... I like our system so much more >>;; and like hell I would let anyone measure my chest other than the victoria secret girls to make sure Im getting the right bra XD

!! must have missed your last entry--hope you're feeling better! *hugs*

...Actually...I feel worse for the nurses, because they have to handle so many samples containing goodness-knows-what. Then again, I remember doing urine samples for a school kidney-health test and it was supremely awkward holding little TRANSPARENT containers of urine in front of ALL the guys and girls who were there. D:

I'd never heard of pinworms before this. I am ignorant >.< But gosh, the picture is really helpful! Haha.

I'm glad there was no measuring of chests in my country, too (but there was, uh, checking of body parts below the waist). And bathing naked is just too ... awkward to imagine. Is that what happens at the hot baths? Oh dear, guess that if I ever go to Japan to try those, I'll be hopping in and out really fast :) With a magical towel...But hopefully, the embarrassment is less when everyone else is similarly clad (or rather, unclad). As opposed to being one of five people in a hall of thirty-plus, carrying a tiny container of urine. :p

hmm, we had those kinds of physicals in Singapore when we were kids. Not the worms, but the physical exams. ^_^;;

And... I am disturbingly amused by the poster.

It was wonderful to talk to you too! I sure do miss you! Lets check out the skype? phone service, ok? Thank you to Nitaspitas!
Maybe some of the raw (or undercooked) foods and fish contributes to pinworms in Japan. Just a guess. The kids rectums would be itching if they have pinworms. Watch for any itchy butts. lol. I'm glad you're feeling better and hope you have more energy tomorrow.
Love you lots! Mom

pinworm exam!?wtf! aww what an embarrasing type of check up!! thank god our school never had that or any sorts of physicals!!
ex_air414 on May 14th, 2007 07:09 pm (UTC)
Oh my goodness, that's awkward. I don't think I could have ever dealt with that. The boob measuring doesn't sound to horrifying, but I don't think I could ever go to a public bath. I like privacy. >_<

I hope you feel even better tomorrow ♥

We use the tape test in the States - you press a piece of tape onto your anal opening before you get out of bed in the morning. Then the doc/nurse/whoever looks for eggs with a microscope. I think we don't usually look at poop itself though.

I wonder why they need to measure the girls' chest. O_o

...I never even heard of a pinworm @.@ Gross.
I'm not particularly against measuring girl's busts though, their parents probably aren't doing it, so a female teacher might as well. If only the knowledge would be used to get the girls bras that fit!

((lol erin too lazy to sign out))

How about bathing fully clothed together? Would you be cool with that? Sorry, but the qualifier of "naked" attached to "bathe" just made me laugh for some reason.

Seriously though, just make sure you're taking care of yourself over there. I know how you can push yourself when you have that 'on a mission' mindset. Or at least make sure you got someone to help take care of you. Being sick without someone around sucks, as I found out recently. Anyway, take care of yourself. *healing hug*

its good hearing your getting better ^_____^

Eww...but at the same time totally random

It kinda reminds me of this Korean film called the Classic. :DD where it had the main character going out everyday collecting his poo samples..since his teacher thought he had worms

Eww. I need to look up what pinworms are.
When I was in elementary school kids would get ringworm but that's on your head so a lot less embaressing and easy to diagnose.

Measuring chests? The only thing they did when I was a kid in USA was measure your body fat level, they'd do it on several places on your arms and legs. I couldn't imagine having to take one's shirt off to get a chest measurement. Is there actually a valid health reason to do that? ^^;

Get better soon somethings going around here that starts with a mind splitting headache the first few days.
