I had miso soup and tea for breakfast this morning.. I guess this means that I'm turning japanese? Oh no!! Where is my cultural pride, lol? As if a breakfast could determine that. ^^ (I say this, though-- I would without a doubt prefer waffles or french toast as a start-the-day food ♥) And I drew a fanart of Tails and Sally the other day. I really miss them, and seeing all of the trailers for the new Sonic the Hedgehog game for PS3 is making me crave a copy and a system to play it on like whoa. Even though I've heard that it's really not that great, I still really want to play it. I can't help it. Erin said that Sonic and the Secret Rings is supposed to be a lot better though. But as a fan who practically lived and obsessed over Sonic from the days that there was only one game for him, and who quit when it went 3d, I think that it's understandable that I'd want to pick it up again! 3d isn't so bad.... sometimes. I really, really want to play!! Oh money, of which I have none....

I am vary dazzled by the rumor(?) that the next Harry Potter movie is going to world-premiere RIGHT HERE IN TOKYO. Red carpet and cool actors and FIRST VIEWING *O* OOH BABY! That definitely would make up for getting it two weeks later than everyone else last year. *spazzes* (Seriously, I'm spazzing over stupid things all the time now. And yet I feel more adult than ever. Go figure.)

I have taken to studying japanese again. I guess that it was the return to work that brought that back up more forcefully. I finally cracked open the Intermediate book that I bought months ago, and stared at it in horror for a few minutes before gaining my footing. So many kanji and NO furigana!! Plus most of the instructions are in japanese. But after I settled in and took a longer look, I realized that of the 102 kanji we were supposed to know when we started, I knew 100 of them. <3<3 Plus of the kanji in the first chapter that were 'new', I knew about 80% of them. I don't suck as much as I think! ^o^ But those last 20% are hard ones!! And there's a lot of new vocabulary and grammar points to study--- I'd better get cracking!! :O My favorite new word is 知識豊富(ちしきほうふ), which means "a wealth of knowledge". Wonder if I'll ever get to use it though. XD;; とにかく、頑張って続きま~すわ!!

This last week has been KILLING me. I've hit a full schedule at work. It seems like I'm always at work or doing something related to work. Such are the pitfalls of beginning a new year. I haven't been sleeping well either, so put together it's kind of fraying at my nerves. But despite that, it's not really so bad. I'm actually in a GREAT mood! I'm happy all of the time, even if I'm really busy. On top of the two jobs and all of the planning and meetings at this time of year, I'm trying to finalize the new house, and that's caused a lot of worry/stress/etc, but I think that we're going to get it. We should hopefully know by Friday, so here's to the amazing relief that I will feel when it turns out alright!! *crosses fingers*

Today it was in the high 70s, and I could die from happiness. Maybe that's part of the reason that I've been feeling so good. I wish that it was this temperature all year long-- no colder, no warmer. You can easily swim in this weather, never need a jacket, and it's comfy enough to spend countless hours outside, and to never need an AC or heater. LOVE. Of course, this has its drawbacks, as it's brought back the bugs full force. I left my patio door open for nearly 2 days straight to keep a breeze going, but it backfired and something that bites found it's way in (TO MY BED!!). I'm guessing fleas of some sort.......... so on my list is to find a good bug bomb SOON. Ow, I itch all over. >.<;;;

I've been looking into new vacation ideas. Even if I can't afford them all for a long time (and I've given up travelling out of the country over the summer since ticket prices are so ridiculously high. I can go in winter instead since I have a ton of time off ^^), I'm really excited. Some things that I'm definitely going to do in the next few years: Go to pamukkale in Turkey, visit Macau Tower, Gorilla safari in Africa, Shark Diving in Africa. This summer, I'm going to make a trip to Kyoto and Osaka, at least. I've never been there, so what's stopping me?? (okay, money, but..) I especially want to see the Naruto whirlpools, dress up like a Geisha in Kyoto, see the famous gate in Hiroshima, and various other things. I want to take a LOT of pictures, too. <3<3 I need to start making albums. The only thing that really sucks is that I can't take amazing pictures with myself in them.. maybe someday I'll figure a way around that, XD.

So... I think this might be a stupid question, but who else likes the new anime series Darker than Black? I really, really like it! Episode 5 had me cheering at the screen when that guy went off on the other for smoking and started to leave because he wouldn't stop! AH AMAZING. Finally someone with my morals! Sure, he's a mass murderer, but I'm willing to overlook that because the anti-smoking demo was the best thing EVER. ♥

PS: I have been thinking about it for a while, and I think that I'm going to finally sign up for kickboxing classes this summer. I really, really want to learn. Something happened a few years ago to get me interested in it, and off and on it's occured to me. What better time than now to start? ^o^ My legs are super-long, so look out world!! ^o^

♥ I haven't eaten breakfast yet. I really hope you guys will get the house! crosses her fingers as well

I really can't wait until the New Harry Potter book and the new movie! I'm really excited but, I heard rumors about the next movie for Harry Potter, the 6th one that the old cast doesn't want to part of it. I don't know. I'm not even sure if its true or not.

Ah, you have so many plans on traveling! ♥ I'm thinking about going country hopping around Asia and Europe. Maybe in another few years or so, I can go to Australia and Africa.

It was sooo hot today. And since the school doesn't like to put the fans on or air con till mid june. *dies* i'm from Canada I'm going to melt from this. I'm still working on my beg book but I think I'm doing better, I understand alot more. I even learned how to write my whole address in kanji XD go me!

Ganbatte ne!! You'll improve really fast here as long as you use what you learn. It's tiring but really rewarding in the end!!

We must go and hang out sometime!! As soon as I get money (which sadly won't be for a while), I want to hang out! I know I say this a lot, but I felt like saying it now still....

(sorry somehow I was logged out for that comment. Strange! o.o;;)

Hai! Ganbatte!! I want to improve. So when I have no classes at work I practice my book. It's hard to contain all the information in your brain. Silly kanji meaning too many things. The teachers even help once and a while. Also learning a little in my english classes too.

Yes we must hang out...ya no money till june for me. But then it's all on the visa. But we don't have to have money. I'm happy enough going to the park on a sunday day like Yoyogi park is awesome with the free live entertainment and having a picnic and getting the soccer ball or doing something...i know!! Free sat or sun? lets go to the park and have a picnic!! XD I wanna go. ^_^

I know how to make some japanese food. :D

Oh, come on! Why isn't London on your list of places to visit? :P
Crowunlimitedblack on May 9th, 2007 02:09 pm (UTC)
Ooh... that's a cool picture of Sally and Tails.

In keeping with my ongoing love for sweeping casts and working out continuity between games, Sonic always presented an interesting case, because there were a lot of one-time characters that never recurred or never played a major role in later games. The idea of having a number of different characters that interact with the game and with each other in different ways was always appealing to me (Sonic & Knuckles was probably my favorite game not just because of Knuckles' half of the game, but also the interactivity with Sonic 2 and 3 that gained new content with Knuckles as the character) but for the most part, this didn't really start happening with Sonic until Sega went software only.

I love ensemble casts, both in games and in films, so when I get a franchise like Sonic that creates an ensemble over a long series of games, I'm always interested in the games just to see the new additions and changes in the ensemble. I'm always sitting there, thinking about storylines, thinking about "Dream Matches" where characters from games that have no continuity or conflicting continuity interact with each other. This is especially fun with games that actually ATTEMPT continuity, like Capcom's Resident Evil or Street Fighter games.

And this is a guilty pleasure that for the most part gets satisfied with SNK's King of Fighters series, which seems to be built purely on the desire to give the small fanbase of the game an installment of the game that tweaks gameplay, changes the ensemble with new characters and removing or revamping old ones, and focusing more on those nostalgic elements than on innovating new graphics or reinventing gameplay.

See what your art makes me do? Darn hino-gurl... ^_^

Oh, and haven't seen Darker Than Black yet. Any good?

tap me sometime if you wanna see naruto over a weekend. I live in Chiba, so I'd be down with seeing something in the neighborhood.

If you go to the Kansai region, check out Kobe too. It's a fun city. Also, if you can afford it, take a ship down to Kyuushu (I think something like 6000 yen?) you can take a Tour of Hell! :-P It's basically a group of hot springs but there is also a huge statue of an Oni and at one of them they've got alligators! I can get you the proper names of stuff if you're interested, since my friend Saya (sayakay) is from there and lives in Kobe. (Hasn't written in her LJ for ages tho) If you'd like I'm sure she'd be happy to meet you in Kobe sometime. She's a teacher too so she'll probably have a similar schedule as well.

Oh ;~; Seeing art of Sally and Tails makes me feel all nostalgic since I hardcore collected the comics! I played the games a lot too, but I wasn't very good at the unfortunately XD;; They did a sonic collection that captured all of the old Sonic games so if you get a system try to see if they have that too so you can play the older games too =D? Unless it was only released here @.@;;

Yey for studying Japanese again :3

Boo for not getting much sleep and having a lot of work though but work = money @.@ *hugs* Uwa sucks about the bug bits too ;~;
chibichan03 on May 9th, 2007 05:39 pm (UTC)
I have seen Darker than Black around, but I dismissed it. I may have to dl the first episode and see what it's about. I have been following Lucky Star, Romeo x Juliet, and Koutetsu sangokushi. I also just downloaded Sola and Kaze no Stigma to check out.

I really want to the see the next episode to 美味(デリシャス)学園 though!!! It hasn't been uploaded yet... Aaa, Aiba and Nagayan withdrawls...

I have plans to do some Japanese studying over the summer also. I will be taking my last class of Japanese this coming Spring semester after having about 2 years without a class... I was having problems with forgetting kanji, but when I started reading idol blogs, some of the ones I thought I had forgotten came back. I am also forcing myself to look up kanji I do not recognize on an online kanji dictionary so that I can also learn some new ones. Luckily, what I will be learning next Spring, is what I learned while I was taking classes in Japan for 4 weeks. I still can't believe I was put in an intermediate class after only having a year of classes. I had the least experience with Japanese out of my entire class. But, then I would have been bored out of my mind in the beginers class because they were learning hirigana and katakana, and I had already memorized those. Basically the beginning class was for those that had not studied Japanese before. So, it was fun, but the language class was intense, but at least I had a challenge.

Harry Potter, Tokyo...red carpet...
oh I hope that's true!!! Harry Potter nerd for life. Wow, I think I might have been a bit too excited to hear that, lol.

Oh kickboxing? Tell me if you find a good place for that, I'm still looking at things to do when I'm over there.
Loved Darker than black! It's amazing...which reminds me I should go watch episode 5.

work now, enough rambles.

That's so funny. We used that same book 2nd year! I picked it back up about a week ago and realized I'd forgotten the majority of the grammar. Alas.

OMG really?! I was really sad about my trip knowing that it comes out like 2 weeks later in Japan. I was agonizing over missing the final HP event or going a Japanese road-trip...>0< even though I'm starting down in Okinawa so I'll be there when it premieres anyway...

What about New Zealand? That should be on your list of places to visit, there is a LOT of places I'm sure you'd enjoy (I had a friend come visit from America, and they loved every minute here)
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 16th, 2007 12:26 pm (UTC)
Oh YES that's definitely on my list!! =D I especially want to visit the places that Lord of the Rings was filmed, and wasn't Harry Potter filmed there too, or am I completely off base? But it's so expensive, it's definitely not in the trip roster for the next two years. Probably after that sometime! ^^
Glenburning_batsu on May 16th, 2007 01:16 pm (UTC)
Lord of the rings = yes, about 90% of it was filmed in various places around NZ, if I remember correctly they never tore down the hobbit village, it is still there as a tourist attraction.

Harry potter = no, I think most of it was filmed in england.
