It's that time of year again......
Time for the Kanamara Fertility festival!!

Okay, of course I'm not very fond of penii. I mean, what girl really is? (don't answer that) But the idea of a festival with a GIGANTIC pink penis being carted down the street by drag queens-- it's just too priceless and hilarious. =D Last year, I went with Eda and Erin, and this year I headed down to Kamakura with Gin and her friends. I ran into a lot of people also. ^^ What I find really odd about this festival is that it's held in the suburbs of a relatively conservative country as Japan, but nothing like that would EVER fly in America. It's just so very amusing. =)

The sakura are in full bloom, which is a greaet backdrop, and it happened to be super bright and sunny on Sunday. It was really the perfect day for a festival. =D So we enjoyed the sights for a few hours, and then went to check out the Pokemon center in Yokohama nearby. Sunday was really quite the day. :)

A picture from my cellphone. Me and Darth Penis. XD;;

Gin buys some.. souveniers. =D

The sakura were so gorgeous! But they're really white this year, which is kinda sad.

Gin and I and her ferret Mabo. I wanted to take a picture on this last year, but the hundreds of people that you don't know taking your picture is a little intimidating. I mean... wtf why do they want my picture when they don't even know me?

Hahahahaa, some very very amusing designs.

Tooooooouuuuuuch iiiiiit!

Don't forget to purify yourself!!

Gin and Mabo enjoy some wood. =F

There were some drummers also.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, insert no evil?

Lots of wishes for fertility (and against STDs and the like) were hung up on the shrine..

...And then burned up. I guess the smoke goes up to the fertility gods?

And here are the gods of the penii.

Everybody wants a little action!

I'm not sure what the candles were for. They looked a litlte bit ghetto. ^^;;

Gin, Mabo, and Soshi. It was nice to meet you, Soshi! ^^

Some gaijin were selling these smoking penii. XD

These are fortunes, hung on a tree for good luck.

And the parade....! I like this first picture A LOT.

It's cooooooooooming~!! Run, run!! Seriously, that's kinda scary..

Ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump............!

And on the way home, we saw this reall cool cemetary..

Pokemon center! I didn't take any good pictures of the inside.. but it's basically just a store of anything and everything Pokemon.

Except this picture. This picture is win. =D I was told that it's a part of the game. But it just cracks me up. Pokemon honey!! XD;;

I stoppeda at the Shibuya animate since it was on the way home. It was just so pretty with Sakura! Look at the streets... that's nothing compared to how it will be later this week (after it stops raining)!!

And if you want a handful of petals..... They're so soft! :O

By the way, Sakura tea is the BEST.

Top all of the ridiculousness off with ice cream, and can things really get any better?
Gah, don't answer that either.

How did you not? =D You must not have as perverted friends as I do. XD;;

Actually though, there are so many gaijin in Tokyo alone and I know only a handful of them. So it's probably just a coindicence. ^^ I wish I knew them all, because there are some half- stars here that I wouldn't mind meeting. :)

Hehe... Gin was actually the only other American that I met in Japan. My Japanese friends probably didn't want to "scare" me by taking me to it. They were mostly guys & probably too shy to take me. XD I hope to make a lot more friends, gaijin or not, when I go back to Japan in 2008.
