Hey hey hey, rescue me baby now♪
I'm sorry that I haven't written in a while.. Or at least it feels like a while to me. But I've been busy almost constantly with work or work-related things, which I think are boring. They're certainly normal, so there's nothing to write about there.. Plus, work makes me tired. They also really, really want me to stay next year. Doushiyou...

Oh... but a belated Happy Valentine's Day!!! ♥♥♥ Because I lack a "special someone" to share that romantic happy day with, I spent it with a bunch of special someones-- my friends! ^o^ Eda, Erin, A-chan, M-chan, and I gathered in the rain on V-day and went to have yakiniku. Yum yum yum!! ^o^ I love yakiniku! It was a great way to spend Vday. Very much fun! A few things are odd about that day though: 1- it's the only day that it's rained in about a month of gorgeous blue skies. What's with that? 2- I may have lacked a date but not random guys hitting on me. I hung out by myself checking out the electronic goods while I waited for A-chan to arrive, and a random guy kept trying to get my phone number. NOT interested! But it's weird... If it was the right person, I might be? But they gave me a creepy vibe, why is it only the ones that I don't want? The guy that I walked by who started making kissing noises too, wtf. What brings these people out of the woodwork on Vday?

Yesterday, I went to Ikebukuro to look around the shops. ^^;; I picked up the entire series of Hot Gimmick for 600 yen!! At 50 yen a book, though I already have the first 3 in english, I couldn't resist! Now to add that to the pile of stuff that I have yet to read. It's weird, I'm really struggling on vol. 1 of Shinshi Doumei Cross which is meant for little girls, but I flew through the first few chapters of Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, which is meant for a wider but older audience. Vocabulary... It's the vocabulary... it's so easy if I know it, but if I have to sit there and look up every other word (Shinshi), then it takes foreeeeeever.

I don't know what to say about life recently. I'm having a great time, but I'm not doing a lot that I'd consider all that interesting. I'm seeing friends a lot which is something that I love, I'm spending time dreaming/designing, which I love, and I'm working or sleeping, both of which I don't like. But I don't know that anything is interesting. Just a way to pass the time. I feel like I'm waiting for the real spring to kick in. When I can wear t-shirts outside. It's sunny and less frigid but it's certainly not warm yet. I feel like all this time waiting is just that-- waiting. (wasting time). I wonder if I'm the only one who feels like the best parts of living are all in the summer. Even almost all of the memories that I have of my childhood are from the summer or spring. Hmm.... It's time to change my journal layout too, I think....

Lawsons is having a Happy Fair! Yay! Only in Japan (though I wouldn't mind seeing more of this outside! ^^)

LOL This cafe is in Shinjuku..

And this restaurant is across the street. LOL

I thought this scene was pretty with the tress lit up..

I WANT THIS LAPTOP!! (If it's customizable) I want a pink laptop in that exact color, it is so cute!! But I will only buy a laptop that I can fully customize. I'll have to go back and look at the specs. (not that I want a japanese keyboard anyways...) But now that I have seen this lovely color, I will NEVER buy a laptop until I have have that color scheme and a design that's cute like that. And of course, like any smart person, only a PC will do. No macs, not EVER. After all, I value compatability.

Organizing manga a few days ago.. they were all messed up, all over.. But I think that I'm going to stop getting Bleach in english, it's just too expensive...

But HxH.. No WAY am I stopping the english for that one. As one of my alltime favorite titles, it's worth any expense!! And not like it's really continuing much in japanese anymore anyways, so it'll eventually catch up.

Went to the Chocolate Cafe again on Tuesday. I made a mistake because there were so many girls there buying chocolate (the traidition in Japan is for girls to buy chocolates for guys on Vday, and on White day a month later, the guys will return them to the girls that they like). I don't really go for the japanese tradition. I prefer the American one, where people that love each other get each other things regardless of gender, and spend a night eating out. Plus valentines to your friends is awesome. ^^

There are Dennys in Japan. =D But their menu is NOTHING like America. I'll have to take a picture sometime. And they're quite more expensive. I miss the pancakes!!!! Though I was shocked that there were actually pancakes just added to the menu, even if you'd never really find azuki bean pancakes in an American store, lol..

I was in the, uh... I forget. But it's a building that showcases the current trend-setting things in cars and future things. It's kind of like a museum, but it's free. I go in a LOT because to cut through it takes quite a bit of time off of the trip to Animate in Ikebukuro. Sometimes I stop to take a look at the neatthings though.... this time, there was a display about how much gas a hybrid car saves you.... so very interesting!!

The onsen manjuu has to eat too!! In this case, Kiwi Sherbert. So yum!

My dessert that night <3

Yakiniku = luv!

And my dessert at Denny's last night:

I really like this picture. =D

Off to buy a basketball and a frisbee! I'm going to pretend it's warm enough to play even if it isn't yet! ^o^

wow look at all the yummy food! You're making me hungry just looking at it XD

I spent my Vday at work and we got a massive storm up in the eastern coast of Canada. lol Loads of fun.

Well, you know I don't care much for Emotional Blackmail Day (while dating or single). However, as it is something that you enjoy I am glad that you had a good time during it with your friends.

Those desserts look great by the way.

One thing that Japan is definitely doing right is their sweet desserts. <3<3 I don't know that I could live without them anymore! ^o^

It was snowing all day V-Day, so I got to spend my day shoveling snow out of the driveway~ Glad you had fun with your friends ^_^

Wow, the series for Hot Gimmick is so inexpensive! It makes me wonder about how much money I have spent on manga so far...probably alot...the numbers scare me~

That sony laptop is so nice~ I have been wanting to get a new one to replace my ibook...wonder if I can find it near where I live?

Those desserts look awesome~ Great photography skills ^_^
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on February 17th, 2007 04:43 am (UTC)
I got it at a used book shop as a set, so I really lucked out! =^-^= I love going to this shop, though I always come home with sore shoulders after lugging all of those books home! (this time 12 mangas plus a hardcover book of something else)

LOL I bet that I beat you in manga over the years. =D It's cheap here for old stuff if you can find it, but oh man, it adds up.

Yay pictures!
Miss you! *snugs*

The pink laptop's pretty cute. O_o Although I don't exactly go for baby pink very well.

Re: Yay pictures!
I miss you too!! *snugs*

How was your Vday? =D

The laptop comes in other colors too. ^^ I picked up the catalogue today and was flipping through it. I'm going to look and see if I can find something with an english version instead. =D I love my keyboard too much to lose it!

Wow, that dessert actually looks appealing to me, though I'm not a huge fan of anything dripping with fruit sauce. ^^;;

I spent V-Day taking an hour exam and going to the Chicago Auto Show with my friends. 8D The cars were actually interesting to look at and explore, but the thing I got the biggest kick from was the VW beetle that was set up for karaoke, properly named Caraoke. Lol. I've been posting their YouTube videos of me and my friend all over. xDD Wanna see 'em?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on February 17th, 2007 04:45 am (UTC)
Sure! ^^ That sounds really interesting!

Off to buy a basketball and a frisbee!
yay xD

Ooooooooh, that laptop is beautiful *is a BIG pink-lover*

Also, if you have time I'd like to ask you a question:
I really want to start learning Japanese as soon as possible and was wondering if you had any recommendations- books or anything that might help me learn to speak, read and write Japanese? Or just words of wisdom.

Thank you ;o)
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on February 17th, 2007 04:46 am (UTC)
expatsjapan <--- There are some really good recommendations there, including mine (in comments) if you check the tags. ^^ I recommend that you take a class as opposed to learning alone, and the most important thing is to remember: stick with it, no matter how hard it is! I'm sure that you can do it!

ohh my friend got that computer for her birthday and it is soo pretty and works really well too, although she did have problems with the CD thing...i don't know what it's called T_T but she says her CDs get stuck a lot cuz the thingy won't open.

those desserts looks so yummy, makes me want to be a pastry chef even more *drools*

ルリdemonruri on February 17th, 2007 04:40 am (UTC)
Omg you bought hot gimmick for like a whole 6 bucks! I bought the whole series as it was being air mailed to kinokuniya T_T I only read/bought in Japanese but when I read the english I was like PERFECT in translation then again its written in easy japanese xD

Hey dont dis the mac, they are just a compatabile as a pc :P it gives you piece of mind. Only thing I use a PC for is for the games that arent mac able. So i just switch to the windows side of my mac xD
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on February 17th, 2007 04:47 am (UTC)
Actually, macs aren't compatible at all. Many devices are only made with Windows in mind even now, and as you said, most of the games or programs don't work on Macs. The only thing that macs used to have over PCs was the better graphics card, but that's not an issue anymore so there's no reason to buy a computer that doesn't allow you to play anything and everything out there that you could possibly want.

As long as you spend Valentine's with people you care about I think that's what matters~ YEY! I really like Hot Gimmick! I hope that you'll like the rest of the series =D Shinshi is pretty good, but it's confusing...but then I read it in english ^^;

That Vaio's really cute too~ Oh yea did you get my e-mail?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on February 17th, 2007 04:49 am (UTC)
Shinshi is confusing in english? Maybe that's why I was having a lot of problems!! I love her art, but I can't continue to keep myself interested in this one for some reason.

Oh yeah, got it! ^^;; I haven't sent the present yet, it's still sitting on my table (actually on top of some DVDs)... I fail. ^_^;; But I will eventually send it, promise!!

You are totally not the only one that feels like real living happens in the warmer seasons. This winter is killing me, and I'm sure I mean that more and more with each passing year. I've been so tired, even when I'm getting sleep, and I'm sure it's because of the grey skies, cold winds, and disgusting snow. The magic of winter is over, give me my spring.

Is it sad that I almost want that pink Vaio? I wish it came in purple, I'd be all over it. *hugs tight* We'll make it to the warm days.
