Merry Christmas from Nikko, Japan

Merry Christmas from Nikko

I went with my best friend Eda to Nikko, from yesterday morning until today. It's my first trip that was longer than a day and the first time I've ever used a travel agent, and it was really exciting. =^__^= Or more like relaxing. Read more...Collapse )

Yeah, when I go to places where cameras aren't allowed, it always made me wish I could just defy it coz i I want to share what I am seeing here. but on the other hand I got it why it's not allowed, Imagine flash popping all around people who is trying enjoying the beauty of the old places.
But still, those are some nice pictures that you got. ^__^

and even if it is a bit late. Merry Christmas to you XD

Wow, that looks really cool. Maybe if I brought occamsrezr there he would have more interest in temple viewing. How long and how much was the trip? What all did it include?

We went to one of the travel agencies outside of Shinjuku station, though they're actually all over. ^^ Ahead of time, we picked out a few of the brochures that are free in the stations of the different packages that are offered in Nikko.

We ended up choosing a package for one night that, including train fare and hotel accomodation (including the meals that we had at the hotel, though that was actually a surprise to us), that was just barely over 20,000 yen. Through the travel agent, they booked and gave us all of the train tickets that we needed, booked the hotel, and also the bus from thes tation in Nikko that we chose to get off of to the station that we were staying near. As for what else we did during the trip, they suggested some options, but ultimately the decision was completely left up to us.

I really, really loved the temples that we looked at!! If Occamsrezr is up to braving the cold, then I highly recommend it. ^^ Also, a cheaper trip that can be made in a day is to Kamakura temple, and that has some nice sights including the money washing shrine, but I found that it wasn't nearly as awe-inspiring as this was. ^^

Your trip sounds wonderful. I hope I can go visit there one day ^^ The temples and statues are amazing. I have only seen them in pictures and I know they are even better in real life. As long as I have the will, I'm sure one day I can come and see all kinds of things in Japan :)

I guess the second greates gift you can give yourself would be to recover. Maybe I should've send you a sweated instead O.o Against the coldness ^^ Well, if you want one, I wouldn't mind making one xD I need to do more handicrafts anyway.
