I can cooking!
Say what you will about my cooking skills, but I cook damn good vegetables. =^__^=

Actually, I think that I cook really well.... most of the time! I am a bit lax on presentation maybe, but I make up for it with flavor! I'm one of those people who's never content with just the book, so I like to experiment with as many flavors as possible to create something new! ^^ I love spices, like garlic and onions and dill. Mmmmmmmmm! ♥

Just vegetables for my snack/lunch at the moment, but they're really good! There are a lot of spices, and on top of being yummy, it's very healthy! Healthy lunch wins!! ^^ Top off with dried pineapple later, I think. =D Well, maybe... because damn, my bills all suddenly arrived and they're expensive. o.o;;;

Mmm...that looks so good!! Garlic, onions and dill <3
I haven't seen your cooking skills, so I can't say anything~ But anyone can cook better than me with my specialty of instant noodles and Mac&cheese ^^;;

...curse bills >.< my have yet to arrive...

The food looks really healthy and refreshing!

Garlic is the best, i put it in everything. <3

Wow, your meal is so colorful! Looks like you have corn, peas, carrots...I can't tell what the brown stuff is, but I can tell it has tons of spices in it XDDD I need to learn to make and eat more healthy food XD

I'm a little wary about the chopsticks in the bowl like that though...isn't it a bad omen to stick chopsticks in a bowl of food like that? Or does that only matter if you stick the chopsticks straight up all the way? I dunno XD

I don't know about omens, but I don't believe in bad luck! ^^

Good thing they're slanted then! ^.~

Oooh, that does looks tasty. =D The iced tea looks refreshin too.

Although I wouldn't leave the chopsticks up like that. Across the bowl looks better and doesn't invite bad spirits into your house. ^^;;
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on June 23rd, 2006 09:36 am (UTC)
I don't believe in things like that!! Baaaaah as if spirits can do anything to me, and they're not going to come in just because of my chopsticks. :P

It's apple juice, not iced tea. =D

Well if you say so. ^^;;

I figured it was one of those.

Waaahhh! Did you know that when you leave a bowl with two chopsticks positioned like that, it insinuates that those you present it to are going to die soon/ are dead?

o____o But it's cute, anyway. xD
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on June 23rd, 2006 01:36 pm (UTC)
Everyone's been saying different things that it insinuates. I think it looks pretty, and I don't believe in things like that ^^;;;

Vegetables are the win!

xD My parents told me to always lay my chopsticks flat on the bowl.

Aside from that, it looks absolutely delicious! ^__^

hehe.. at first glance (a quick one) it looked like a bowl of m&m's hehehe.. I just have bad eyesight.

Hmmmmm.. You'll need to post one of YOUR recipes :D
+babymoss on June 23rd, 2006 01:14 pm (UTC)
Yes, I thought they were m&ms too at first... :o)

Yeah.... bills are annoying. Like taxes.

Veggies are certainly a tasty lot ^_^

.__. Looking around for hotels in Shinjuku, holy crap, I never realize how expensive these things are. But ♥ It looks really yummy.

From what I know sticking them up like that is akin to putting up incense when someone dies or you’re pretty much wishing death upon someone (depends on the Asian culture). Either way it’s related to death and a cultural no-no. Even I lay them flat (of course you need to be careful of how you do that in some restaurants in some countries because you might accidentally imply you are done eating). I haven’t heard of negative implications towards self, just rudeness or bad implications towards others (but I don’t know all the beliefs). You don’t have to care or worry, but then just don’t care or worry about being an obvious American Gaijin. =P

I think that's one of those customs that can definitely stand to go out the window in the future.... ^^;;;;
Raynermundist on June 24th, 2006 10:45 pm (UTC)
Sure, all you have to do is get rid of the Buddhist traditions (and perhaps others). That should be as easy as decreasing the Christian influence over the US societal norms…hehe.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on June 24th, 2006 10:55 pm (UTC)
Naaah, we just have to wait. It's like the custom where men used to hold doors open for women--- it's been all but forgotten about now, lost forever to the ravages of time. ^^
Raynermundist on June 25th, 2006 12:58 am (UTC)
Forgotten my arse! You women are too freaking inconsistent for us guys to know what to do. I've gotten in "trouble" for both opening doors for women and not. =P
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on June 25th, 2006 01:16 am (UTC)
Ah, but you are one of the few men who would even think to try to open the door for a girl! ^.~ A large majority don't even take the time to try it out once to see if it's okay or not~
