声が…声が…サヨナラ、さよなら…
The title of this post is a pun. If you know the reference, you get a cookie! ^-^

Seriously though, I have lost my voice! ;_; It's actually better today and I can talk with some effort, but my throat is in quite a bit of pain. I hope that it will clear up by tomorrow morning, though. I have plans to go to the Tokyo design festa with friends!! So, tonight it's been fruuuuuit! (and ice cream *coughs*) I have mangoes waiting in the fridge for consumption.

So, today this 5th grade boy comes up to me, and points at the crotch of the boy next to him. He says, "ヒー ハッズ スモッル ディック!" It sounds something like this, "heee haazzu sumorru dikku!" Or in case that's too hard to read, try "he has small dick!" Yeah.... XD Their teacher had no idea what he said, and I had no idea where he'd learned it.  Ahh I love Japan. hearts;

I watched the finale of the Amazing race. Horray for the winners!!♥ It was HILARIOUS seeing them go through Tokyo! No a single person (except Phil on the explanation) said "Hachiko" right. I've never heard anyone pronounce it that way ("ha-CHIco") but all three teams did it that way. LOL wtf? BJ's japanese sounds very very foreign, lol. Work on it! ^.~ XD The subtitles also added in information that wasn't really in what they were saying. XDXD Literary license and all that, lol. Mwahaha, and when that japanese guy pointed right and said "hidari, right right", it was really funny. He was saying "left" in japanese. XD The only reason I get them straight is because I'm left-handed, so I hear "hidari kiki?!?" on almost a daily basis. XD And what was up with Jeremy's "Fyuuji-kuu" highlands? LOLOLOLOL Yes, that's so how you pronounce "Fuji-Q" I know almost all of the places in Tokyo that they showed, except for the capsule hotel. I've never actually seen one, though I've always kind of wanted to! And oh man.... drunk salarymen parodying HG was priceless!! R-Yo didn't know what was going on. XDXDXD

Gonna rest, and draw for Otaku University tonight~ ^-^
PS: I want to be on the Amazing Race!! ^^ I hope there comes a day when I'm eligible for it!

"ヒー ハッズ スモッル ディック!"
*giggles* What a cute kid... erm, how old is he anyways? Is 5th grade equivalent to 11 years old (sorry... I'm used to primary and secondary schooling XD)? Sigh, I never got to watch Amazing race... It would've been fun hearing how they speak japanese whilst racing through Japan - or is it just Tokyo only? - and comparing their way of speaking with mine. It's fairly possible that I'm worse off than them ^^

Hi-chan, try not to strain your throat for the weekend ne? I'm glad that it's improving, but it'll definitely take more time to get well completely. In the meantime, you can always try conversing with drawings or written words instead - that's what I did the other time round when I lost my voice totally. LOL. And have fun at the design fest! *looks forward to more photos*

I saw the Amazing Race:: Japan. I loved it. I love the two best friends. I think they should win since they are very happy to be in Japan and love to learn and use their Japanese skills to communicate with other people. It was great! ♥

I hope you will get better! Maybe you should try some tea or something that will...sort of help "clear your throat!" or maybe not. I don't know because I have lost my voice but usually water or some medicine usually works. :D

:D

I got enough money for my Japan trip. Somewhat! I'm getting more money! :D Waiii! I can't wait to see you next or 2008 in the fall or Spring!!
:D

I hope your throat starts healing faster. I don't have a "feel good" remedy, but it seems like you have that covered anyway. ^_^

I was waiting for you to write your response to Amazing Race. I bet you were as happy as my sister and I were with the result. :3 Yeah, even I knew some of the pronunciations and sub-titles were wrong, and I barely know any Japanese. o_O

I'd love to see you on Amazing Race, simply because I can be like, "Hey! That's Jamie in Japan!" 8D That's what I've been calling you when I talk to my sister since I have a friend here named Jamie.

What a cute kid xD

I love it when things somehow relate to Japan (I don't watch Amazing Race though :3)

Feel better!~ :D

Phil didn't say Shibuya right though... :\ I was kinda surprised at that.

I totally loved the Hachiko part and how the Frat Boys thought the guy was Hachiko. And I kinda felt as though all the teams kinda thought the guy was Hachiko instead of the big dog statue in front of him.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 19th, 2006 09:26 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I bet the teams feel really stupid now. XDXD The "shibuya" guy was hot, though. =D

Dude, Phil!!! Bad boy!!!!

He was saying "left" in japanese. XD The only reason I get them straight is because I'm left-handed, so I hear "hidari kiki?!?" on almost a daily basis.

So you get that a lot? During the two weeks I was in Japan five years ago I kept getting attention because of my lefthandedness.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on May 19th, 2006 09:27 pm (UTC)
Yep! Every time I pick up a pencil in public, someone says it.

Doesn't get tiring, though? I never get nearly that level of attention here in the States. I didn't figure we were that rare.

Uwah, hope your throat feels better. .;_;
And LOL @ 5th grade boy. X.D
