Hanami ~ 花見

Ah, how I love the sakura... aren't they gorgeous? ^___^ Eda, Sana, Jen, and I went sakura blossom viewing (花見) at Ueno park on Wed afternoon, before Tenimyu. ^____^

I'll confess something, though.. the ones that are really pink, I altered them to give the pink color a boost. And to give the blue sky a boost. ^__^ It makes the pictures even more beautiful, I think.. It's really easy to do.. sometimes I think that I should try to find a temporary job in photo editing.. I've been doing it for so long that it comes naturally to me..

I didn't know this before I came to Japan, but the sakura blossoms only stay on the trees about a week. So really, there's only one week of the year that you can go and walk underneath blooming sakura trees. I'd always thought that it lasted for a long time, since it's a staple of the anime and drama shows! During this time of year, since it's so short, the parks become so packed that you can't even move sometimes. Luckily we were going during a weekday when most people are at work, so it worked out well for us. ^____^

The sky was overcast here.. but the subtle pink color of the blossoms is closer to what it looks like unless there's bright sun. ^^

Me! Okay, I didn't do ANYTHING to this picture.. this is how red my hair looks in this light now. o.o Wow! (Inside it looks brown, and other lights it looks more orange) Yes I was wearing a HOT pink jacket. XD If you see a hot pink jacket in the next Tenimyu dvd, then it was me, lol.

Pretty pretty blossoms..

So gorgeous...

Rodin's sculptures were outside of the nationa Japan art museum in Ueno park!! COOL!! It was my first time seeing these master works up close!! I was a bit humbled!!!!! SO COOL!!!! *___*

This door is so gorgeous.. Someone told me that it shows up in Fullmetal Alchemist or something too..

Yeah baby, I am the master of taking photos from great angles. =D He looks so bashful that he's hanging free! Do you feel a breeze?

Next to Zepp Tokyo, there is this huge video arcade.. and inside, you could ride on these giant bugs all over the floor!! So of course I had to get on! =D

And that's all for now!! ^__^ I won a pink Haru (from Gundam Seed) that swims in the tub from a prize machine! It's so cute!! ^-^ I won a yellow one for Sana and Jen too! ^^ And I won three giant plush BEETLES that are shiny and stick on the window!! lol what to do with them! XDXD

And now I leave, for a musical! ^__^ I love musicals! I can walk there... I love living in Shinjuku!! ^^

We went ohanami at the Zenpukuji Park too. :D~ On the news they said that tomorrow is going to be the peak of ohanami. ^^

Oh wow.. that means to stay away from all of the parks tomorrow!! I can just imagine how crowded they will be!

^^; That door looks like the Gates of Hell by Rodin. . . haha I may be wrong tho. I'm just guessing since there's the "Thinker" sorta on the top. XD Too much art history class. haha

Nh~ have fun at the musical ^^

Ah yes and there´s something I wanted to ask you: I read what temperature it has in Tokyo in my newspaper everyday. I just wanted to now how accurate the newspaper is - so today it should have around 10° in Tokyo. Is that true ?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on March 31st, 2006 12:38 pm (UTC)
I'm afraid that I can't answer that, since I don't have a thermometer myself to tell the temperature. (Nor do I understand Celsius temperatures. ^^;;;;) I CAN say that it was WAY too cold for spring today, though! I was freezing in my light jacket, but I REFUSE to wear something heavier. It's SPRING for crying out loud! ;o; I should be able to walk around in t-shirts by now!!! ;____;

Those giant beetles make me think of the beetle guy (I think his name was Tezuka... *lol*...) in Nobuta wo Produce...

I wish Spring would come to Europe T_T
Or at least to my hometown...
*just got completely soaked in a rainstorm*
Looks really beautiful~!

Enjoy the cherry blossoms to the fullest!!
*big hug*

EEE!!! So pretty! I've never seen sakura before, but one of these days I will! And your hair is so awesome!! I love love love the colour *nods*

You could ride giant bugs?! O_O wow. That totally sounds like fun! I would probably have had bug battles with my friends. But I guess that would have gotten me kicked out, huh? XDD

Those sakura blossoms are so PRETTY! We have a few varieties of Sakura trees on campus, but none of them can even compare to the ones in Japan! *o*

I really like the first picture in this post. At first I thought you made it into a black and white picture and the redness of the flags(?) were really emphasized, but then I realized it was just the sakura blossoms making that effect! It's so cool :D
