Saikin wa~
Me in Shinjuku~ ^o^Hello, beautiful, beautiful Shinjuku! ^.^ Err, Tokyo... Err, world?

Mika sent me some of the photos that she took when she was visiting Tokyo. ^__^ I really like how the light works in the pictures.. I'm such a sucker for interesting lighting. ^___________^ Remember the ones that I took of her too? ^^ Anyways, here is me, being the subject of a photo for once, heh... =D

Tonight, I went out for Okonomiyaki with Eda, Miyu, and A-chan. Ahhhhh, it was really good, I haven't had Okonomiyaki in such a loooong time!! ^-^ *starry eyes* It was also the same restaurant in Kabuki-cho Shinjuku that Eda and I went to the first time that we met in person. Ahhh, fond memories those are. It was relaxing too, and we picked up some Coconut milk bubble tea on the way out. Iv'e never had coconut milk before, but I really liked it, even though I don't like coconut (it's the texture, I think). I also wore my new pink skirt, which made me uber-happy. I looooove it, it's so gorgeous!! (I'll take a picture sometime)

It's raining for the first time in a long time in Tokyo. In fact, the only time other than this that it's rained all winter, was on the day of Kimeru's concert. LOL How fitting, when Bleach myu starts tomorrow, lol. I have GREAT tickets, though, and even better tickets for the last show (front row center, baby!!). How I lucked out like that, I have NO idea. But it's a good thing that I like Bleach now, I'm about halfway through the anime and picked up some of the english manga earlier to read on the trains. ^^

Oh yeah, before I go, one more picture! ^-^

I ♥ you all!! I have to go through and make some very important journal comments tomorrow, just reminding myself. ^^

ooo I love the night pictures ^^

Hehe I always find it amusing that the coconut milk [the drinkable one] is actually clear. Here there is also a variation called Coconut shake ^^. The coconut milk, some ordinary milk [sweetened] and then they are blended together and then served with a dollop of vanilla icecream on top. nyummy

Coconut milk is clear? I didn't know that.. in the milk tea, there's obviously other milk too, so it's kind of a white-brown in color. ^^ Now that I think of it, I'm craving it again!!!!

hehe i had the advantage as it being a staple here but yes the one you drink is actually clear [and actually quite beneficial for your health]
They come from a young coconut [where the skin is still green] and the flesh is still soft. This site shows how it looks ^^
But then the older the coconut got, the harder the inside flesh become and the liquid become seeped inside the flesh. This older coconut will produce the 'milk' or the white colored liquid once the flash is grated and squeezed. We use this for cooking e.g curry and sometimes for pudding
^^Sorry for the impromptu lecture

I've discovered I hate any tea or drink with any bits or pieces in it. When I first tried bubble tea I swore I ate a bug and it, like, traumatized me or something :x

bubble tea = ♥

but the calories!
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on January 13th, 2006 11:40 pm (UTC)
There's a lot of calories in bubble tea? I always thought that it was really healthy for you!! :O
angeangelamori on January 14th, 2006 09:18 am (UTC)
yeah, it was huge in Singapore a couple of years ago, and like everything else, was subjected to calorie-counting. One serving of those tapioca 'bubbles' = 400 calories. When you add in the milk and sugar, that drink has like 1000 calories per serving. >_<
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on January 14th, 2006 03:47 pm (UTC)
wow... o.o I always thought that tapioca bubbles were fat-free... free of everything, really. They don't have any taste or anything.. o.o
angeangelamori on January 14th, 2006 04:32 pm (UTC)
yeah, but it's the starch. Folks in Asia used to survive on tapioca for their dietary needs during the second world war. I'd expect it to have a lot of carbs to have kept them going.

Plus, those bubbles have been boiled in brown sugar to attain that dark colour. So... >_>

It has been raining here in Portland nine out of ten days for the past month and a half.

Beautiful pictures, I love the poses and the cute teddy bear. What is Okonomiyaki?
Coconut is so good. I love how it tastes and I just love it. ♥ Although I'm not allow to eat it when I'm sick because I'll probably cough until the end of my time.

Raining is pretty nice, but once the cold wind hits the rain, it becomes unbearable and you just want to hide under your covers and sleep.
♥ you loads

An okonomiyaki is kind of like a japanese-style pizza... sorta. Have you ever seen Ranma 1/2?

That sounds yummy though. ♥ boba is so fricking good. ♥ again.

Ohh. The lights look very pretty (and cute too)!
And bubble tea.. yum! :3 Ahaha~ I don't like coconut either. Especially its chunkiness. Bleh. :x
