Oh man...... today's Japanese class was muy difficult!! I mean, muy, muy difficult!! It's near Eda's level, and WAY above mine! o.o It's about a NOVA level 4, if that means anything to anyone here... I kept up in the first half just barely, but the second half went over my head and is still going over my head. ^^;;;; But it's odd, because this is what I think I needed!!! Sure, I was embarrassed in class when I could barely grasp the situation (It had to do with a party and choosing and making a dish from my partner's native country for starters), much less come up with original and new conversation for it, but it just makes me want to beat it!!!! I will overcome the gap and push myself until I can match everyone else in the class!! (This is saying a lot, because I really am LOW...) But I know that I'm capable of it, so this may be one of the things that I was truly lacking. Challenge. True, directed challenge. 燃えるぜバアァァ-ニング!!What the heck have I been doing with my high iq the last 5 years? I haven't felt academically stimulated at all. Not since my AP Calculus class my junior year of HS. So I can't WAIT to get cracking on this and make some real improvement!!!!

Also working on my doujinshi finally! Mmmmmmmmm smex, drawn by me! How special is that! ^______^ *waves KeviRyo flag*

I couldn't resist.... -_- I know better than this, though!! Don't I? .............

STEP ONE
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-relatedto medium to really big. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ.

STEP TWO
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My Wishlist
1 - To have aoi_tenshi come to visit me in Japan....
2 - To have alsie come to visit me in Japan..
3 - American food.... (Reeses, caramel, candy corn, well, candy especially... Also Frito Lay's jalapeno cheddar dip! Mmmm and so much more!!!)

5 - For certain people that promised to email me to actually do it! (nobody who's reading this...)
6 - To get better in Japanese.......
7 - To have my manga published in at least one magazine in Japan!
8 - A cute jacket and pants that actually fits right!! (In the arms especially! I have long arms too!!)
9 - To go ********* at ******* again.

Paella is a very famous Spanish dish with rice and a lot of seafood in it! (really good if there isn't too much oil in it...)

Tapas(or Tapa) is also from Spain and basically is fingerfood or something...usually snacks you get with your beer or wine...can be anything from olives to little dumplings etc.

=3

Wow... sounds like I need to go to Spain!

i can't imagine speaking japanese on that high of a level right now. Since i'm only in my second year, the things i hear already make my head spin. I was considering going to tokyo next fall and doing a year of intensive japanese >.< but hearing stuff like that scares me lol.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 8th, 2005 09:29 pm (UTC)
People were like, "la la la la la la la" (replace with good japanese) really fast. Me, I was like....... "etto....... zen zen wakaranai..."

Do you happen to have a copy of the song that they're singing, or even know what it's called? I've been looking for that song for years!!
konbonwakonbonwa on November 8th, 2005 10:54 pm (UTC)
Pasty- A dry saltbeef or saltchicken in a hard, handground wheat, flatbread. They are like a Gyro, but without the "mmmmm, tastey" that comes into play.
No one has ever said "woo hoo! Pasteys! That list of food was made by someone who plays in the SCA.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 9th, 2005 05:01 am (UTC)
I've always wanted to be a part of the SCA, actually.. ^^;;

you can eat alligator, guinea pig and kangaroo?!?! ;___;
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 9th, 2005 05:04 am (UTC)
Of course you can eat alligator! ^^;; It's common in the S-E of the USA if I remember right. I had it in Phoenix. ^^

I've heard of eating kangaroo, though I've never even seen a kangaroo irl, let alone ate one. I think it's an australian thing...

But the Guinea Pig floored me. O.o WTF?

I don't remember, did you tell me you like Velveeta or cheese in a can (or both)?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 9th, 2005 05:07 am (UTC)
I DETEST cheesecake. IT's SO NASTY. YUCK YUCK YUCK. Every time that I've tried it (three times) I immediately wanted to puke. X_x It's SO GROSSSSSSS. Aaaaaah I get chills just thinking about it! X_x;;

MMMMM!!!!! I like both velveeta and cheese in a can!!! ♥ If given a choice, I'd take cheese in a can but I adore both!!
