Reasons why Tenipuri is NOT ending soon (anipuri)
EVERYONE is angsting about it. ...... why? it's just a rumor. If you've actually seen physical printed proof in an official magazine, then please by all means direct me in the right direction. My opinion is that it's a FALSE rumor.

Why? Here are my reasons. ^_^;; It's probably not going to end anytime soon!! (and if it does, then I will be sad, but it happens to the best series.... they all have to end sometime and usually before they're really ready to end)

1- the rumor started from a japanese fanboard where some girl posted the names of the 'last episodes'. Hello. Japanese fans are not magic. They have the same spazzes and unfounded rumors that we do. (like Nagayan getting married) Guess what? Japanese fans are the same as us!! Wow, shock I know.

2- Tenipuri love is going STRONG in Japan. The manga is still running, the anime is insanely popular, they have friggin' musicals that seemed to outsell well beyond any expectations the last time around. (I can attest because I was there and saw the HUGE-ass lines... I was a part of them. Tickets sold out within 30 minutes of going on sale, for EVERY show.)

3- Ryoma's going to America, according to the episode titles. (whee!! Does this mean more Kevin! I hope so!!) So, uh... where is the match with Tezuka that Ryoma just begged for in the recent episode? I don't see it. Trust me, it will happen and it will be at least 3 episodes long. (Ryoma will win too, but only after being exhausted and/or getting injured... can you gainsay it? XD)

4- They would never end Tenipuri without a huge Ryoma/Nanjiroh match. Ryoma will win again, of course. I honestly think the series will end this way (though I would like to see it continue with some new people into Ryoma's second year at Seigaku, I don't think it will happen). This match will probably happen right after graduation for the year, since I'm sure they'll want to show that. And probably a lot of flashbacks.

5- They just added a new ending and opening theme. Of course this doesn't mean as much as the others, but it's a really good one, and I don't think by the tone of it that it signifies an ending.

6- There is a movie coming out at the end of the month. Uhhh, what about that says "we should stop this series because we're earning enough money to make a movie!"?

7- They will lose so much money if they cancel it. And let's face it, that's what all this is about. Money. Have you been to the giant Animate in Ikebukuro? I have. There is one floor dedicated to anime character goods, and it has three long aisles in it, which are split in half. So, we'll say there are 12 'aisles' in the store (6 aisles, 2 sides each). There are around 40 anime series represented here at any given time, but Tenipuri has an ENTIRE AISLE to itself. That's 1/12 of the entire floor. Believe it or not, that's a LOT. (even though the floors aren't too big) There isn't any other series that get a whole aisle to themselves (though One Piece has about half an aisle or a little more). It also has a lot of room for things spread out throughout the store, and especially room near some of the cash registers and in the display cases.

8- If you need more convincing, look at the UFO catchers. How many series are there now? There is even a set that has a large portion of the cast each wearing a different color of Kaidoh's bandanas. There's like.. at least 3 different Xmas sets that I've seen. There's a lot out there. ^^;

9- I mentioned it already, but the fandom is going strong. Comicket had a HUGE tenipuri section. So much so that it was one of the handful that was labelled on the map. (along with Gundam Seed, and a few others)

Sorry.. I don't mean to sound snarky at all! ^.^ I love tenipuri, and I love the people involved in it! I am such a tenipuri fangirl myself! But I just wanted to help reassure people and make them think.. you know? I of course, don't want it to end either... and unless I see some kind of official printed source, then I won't believe it for a second. ^.^For all of the reasons that I stated above and more.

~~work beckons! I can't wait to go to the Out of Order shop on Monday.... wai! ~<3

You are right but think also this...
- Tenimyu had this HUGE support and they changed actors. <--without a good reason behind this choice.<--this proves japanese people are weird..why change something that goes so well???
- Also..On Wednesday ep, Nanchan received a letter from US..we still don't know what's written in it but I think it's US Open related.
- The japanese fans are wondering the same thing we all are, but wasn't it Hagarns that was very popular and had a new opening for just 10 eps? And Hagaren is still famous in japan with loads of merchandising.
- You forget the possibility that Konomi sensei could have said stop to the anime because he wants to put in the manga the match and results of the Ryoma/Tezuka's match and Nanjiro/Ryoma's one.
Airing on tv would definitely spoil the results..
- Also..even if tenipuri is insanely famous, the anime itself it's not one of the most followed on tv, on the weekly ranking rankings it doesn't appear at all...
It's not that I believe Anipuri will end this March (hell I really hope no >_<) it 's just that I don't want to have high hopes and after see my hopes shatter because they will stop it abruptly.
Here we say, better be sourprised than disappointed ._.

Awww, soo pessimistic, Myu! ::glomps:: Don't be! I really don't think they'll cancel Anipuri. ^^

Konomi-sensei earns a LOT of money from this anime I'm sure.. even if it's not the most followed. If I was him, why stop that and still have to work for a living?

I'm almost 100% sure that the letter that Nanjiroh received is related to the movie. ^^ Yes, it's about the US open, because Ryoga has been playing in it all this time that we didn't know about it. That much I think they said in the commercials for it. ^^

As for spoiling the results... they did it for the Sanada/Ryoma match.. so I don't think they'd be worried about spoiling things. It will probably be a little different, anyways, than how the manga handles it.

And I'm sure they had their reasons for changing the actors in the myu. ^^ One of them being to let in fresh faces. There are probably way more reasons than that, but we'll never know ^.^;

::huggles:: don't worry about it too much, sweetie. ^^

..........and what's Hagaren? Never heard of it.. o.o
堕天使 BLUE: Renji - I can see youdatenshi_blue on January 16th, 2005 07:12 am (UTC)
Hagaren is Full Metal Alchemist (short for HAGAne no RENkinjutsushi) ;)

Well, I also hope you're right, but it wouldn't be the first time they screw some good series just like that (Hikago, Slam Dunk, anyone?).

I don't think it will end with episode 176 as everyone is saying (I think that climax thing is the Fuji vs Tezuka match's end). But I wouldn't be all that surprised to see it end by the end of March. April is starting of the big new season for anime in Japan. If anipuri makes it through April alive, it will probably be around for, at least, another year. We have to wait.

Aaaaah, fma! XD I was really wondering about that! =DDDDD Thanks! I sometimes wonder if I was the only one who saw the first episode and didn't like it. ^^;;
Hanjae: Drama Queen || i_con_uhanjae on January 16th, 2005 02:31 pm (UTC)
*waves hand* You're not the only one! XP Well, I didn't really not like it, but it was a bit too dark for me. I probably might've followed through to the end if I didn't find out the sucky ending.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on January 16th, 2005 02:44 pm (UTC)
I only saw the first episode, and tossed it aside. The art..... gah, it was just so boring and ugly, and the story was boring... When it got popular, I thought about watching it later on, but then someone REALLLY yelled at me for not giving it more of a chance, and I resolved that I'd probably never watch it.

Dude... as if it's a capitol offense that I didn't like the first episode of a series, so I didn't watch the rest. I have like, 800 other series I want to see that I LIKED the first episode of, and I don't have time for.
Hanjae: Falling || _sashimihanjae on January 16th, 2005 02:50 pm (UTC)
Everyone treats Hagaren like it's the biggest anime that ever came out in Japan >.>;; It's like, "Have you watched FMA?" "..What's that?" "Omg, what country town did you pop out of? How could you not know what FMA is?!" ~.~ Oh well, each to his own, I guess.

But I can tell you here, from my point of view, it's seriously not that great. Maybe it's just because I don't like that much angst, but it's so depressing ~.~'' By episode 7-8 you get to see a little girl exploded into such tiny pieces there's nothing left except a whole wall covered with blood. Pleasant, isn't it? XD
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on January 16th, 2005 03:07 pm (UTC)
Um, ewww....

worked for Battle Royale, but ugh.. no thanks. I loved BR, actually, but I didn't like Kill Bill.. X_x

Funny... Tenipuri is a lot bigger here than FMA. Granted, it's been going longer, but.. hehee... oh well, I guess it doesn't really matter. XD
美夢_miyuchan_ on January 17th, 2005 10:42 pm (UTC)
If it makes any difference, people around me always talk about Hagaren whil I didn't watch any ep of that serie..Just not interested..I was taking that example just because I knew it was a famous serie^^
Amyacidae on January 16th, 2005 03:17 am (UTC)
I totally agree with you <3 I honestly don't get why people are so upset right now... nothing's set in stone yet, so I'd rather spend my time focusing on angsting over how and when I'm getting that SideMine DVD XD

That's quite true.

...huh? Why?

::has a wide and varied range of interest:: But personally, I love the people that I have gotten to know through Tenipuri. ^^
Hanjae: Arigatou || me~hanjae on January 16th, 2005 02:36 pm (UTC)
I totally ♥♥ you :D

You've got some really good reasons there, and I'm not about to try and dash my own hopes by arguing with those points. The whole "Climax" thing, I still think it's the climax of the Fuji vs. Tezuka match. Why would they make Fuji vs. Tezuka the LAST episode? I mean, Ryoma is the main character XP It's stupid if they just end it like that.

*bounces* I don't think it would end at episode #176. Even if it won't go for much longer after #176, I think there would at least be a Tezuka vs. Ryoma match, if not a Ryoma vs. Nanjiroh. The entire anime's been going steadily towards Ryoma getting stronger and stronger, anyway.

But whether it ends or not, PoT will ALWAYS be the greatest anime EVAAR <3 :D It'll have to end sooner or later; let's hope it's later. Mind if I post these reasons on my journal?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on January 16th, 2005 03:00 pm (UTC)
By all means, go ahead and pass them around!! =^___^=

I think there will be a Ryoma vs. Nanjiroh match... it would be like ending Hunter x Hunter without Gon meeting his father. Soooooo wrong! O_O

I love you. Hahaha. For one, I'm too lazy to type those out. ^_^;;

I remember when I was in Hamamatsu, and Chihiro (who was babysitting me because Yuki had a basketball match) took Illa and I to an anime store.

There was a massive shelf for One Piece, Naruto and Prince of Tennis. EACH had their own MASSIVE shelf of MERCHANDISE only.

Anything that merits it's own shelf just for pencil boards and keyrings and pens, means that it's not going to end anytime soon. :P

(Obviously I went and cleared out the One Piece shelf ;P)
