busy busy busy
I'm feeling a bit better today. Wow, yesterday's Anizona meeting was both fun and productive. I think that helped a lot. I'll be really sad to leave that behind when I move, but of course I still want to be involved with things from afar, and plans (subject to change if I can't manage it because of work) are still to come back for it next year.

My departure date for Japan is September 15th. Wooow, I'm so excited! Nova said that they're sending me an information packet in the mail, probably today! <3 My prelim plan is still to leave here on the 10th of August, visit Dusty for 2 weeks, and then stay with Mom in WA for the little remaining time until I leave. I have a lot to do before then... still have to move all of my stuff from here on Wed to Val's. Then on Mon next week I'll have to make the plane ticket reservations. So much to do.... Must make self not buy unnecessary things........ (very hard)

I have a question for you Phoenix peoples.... Does anyone know the best place to sell a car? Elvy mentioned that on daytime TV (during Jerry Springer/Ricki Lake, etc), there's ads for a place that will take your car as a donation and give you $1,300 for it. Unfortunately, as Ron's taken the TV already, I can't watch daytime tv to see if I catch the ads for it. The only other place that I can think of to take it is to a scrapyard... I really don't want to deal with the hassle of selling it directly to someone (esp from someone else's house), but I want to get the most money that I can out of it otherwise. It does still run (though  not greatly, granted), so that should be something.. Anything helps, because it's more money to fund the move with. ^__^

Note: DAMN YOU Prince of Tennis! It really is a drug!!!!! X_x *coughs* Gotta stop watching it and get back to packing/sorting/donating.

Ironically, I do have a friend near the Phoenix area looking for a car...

Hmmm... Send him my way if he's possibly interested... though honestly my car isn't much. ^_^; It gets me around town and all of that.... though it would be a lot better if the AC worked anywhere near decent. O_o

car donations
If you DONATE your car, it's usuallly to a charity or church. They advertise all the time on regional television. Car donations are just that, donations. You get no money, but they are Tax deductible, up to $1,300. So donate it if you want, just remember you did when you fill out your taxes fron Japan next february, and tack it on as a donation. You should get all of your tax money back for it!

Re: car donations
Oh, darn.. No, I need money, and I won't be paying US taxes while I work over there. I'll just take it to a scrapyard or something, depending on who'll give me the most money. I know that I won't have anywhere near the 1,000 that they recommend before I go, so any will help. ^_^

What year/make/model is the car?
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on July 26th, 2004 05:49 pm (UTC)
It's a 91 Buick Century.. It, um.. runs. I won't say much else. I'm sucky at this whole car thing.
