Fullmoon wo Sagashite
It's actually kind of funny... I consider Full Moon wo Sagashite one of the best shoujo animes ever made (certainly in the top ten and my personal top five), and I completely worship the author, Arina Tanemura. She has GORGEOUS art these days, even if her stories are not all that, Fullmoon aside. (As anyone reading Sakura-hime Kaden will know) But even with all that, I have never read the manga. I guess because when the anime came out, there was no english version of the manga available (there is now) and I couldn't read japanese. So the other day, I found the entire series in a used bookstore for 800 yen.. and of course I had to pick it up!

I've only just barely started (read vol 1 this morning, but have to stop there because there is just too much to do), but I remember now why I loved the anime so much. The manga is stunning, and honestly one of the reasons that I want to work for Shueisha so badly, and be published in Ribon, is that I could therefore be her (friendly) rival. I just adore her artwork so much!! I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing, but Tanemura-sensei, here I come!!

Anybody who hasn't seen/read Fullmoon, I highly recommend it! I cried so hard at the end of the anime... seriously bawled! I hope I feel the same at the end of the manga, when I finish. ^^

I love Full Moon, too! I watched it several years ago, and it's still one of my favorites!

My sister loves this series~ I started the manga, but never got a chance to finish it...yet. But I've declared this winter break "catch up on all those manga that are piling up" week, so maybe that'll get in there :]

I read the mamga, and what also drew me in aside from the plot were the costumes/outfits of Mitsuki whenever she "grows up"! *_* Her art really is gorgeous. ♥

Now that you've mentioned it, maybe I'll try the anime series as well.

Oh, wow, what a grab!! ♥

So glad you picked up this series. It's very wonderful and tons better than the anime. :) I hope someday you'll get to be published in Ribon!! That's like, a lot of people's dreams. :D

Ahh I've seen and read all of it and I concur. Tanemura is absolutely amazing.

I also am in love with Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne (both the manga and anime), so I have to disagree and say that she does have more than one strong series. Kaitou Jeanne is pretty amazing too.

agreed about KKJ! I actually liked it better than Full Moon! But ah, of course they're both good~ :)

Sakura-hime Kaden was getting too confusing for me, so I stopped reading it. Have you read Gentlemen's Alliance Cross? I thought it was pretty good.

I read the first volume a long time ago. I also picked it up the other day though, so I'm planning on getting around to reading it all. ^^

Was it really $40?! I have it, but I bought it right when it came out, so I can't remember. It's really informative!!

I love full moon, except I bought the whole set, in america, 10 dollars each, for 70 dollars >.<...
Good luck in your friendly rivalry (:

I love Arina Tanemura's style as well! I have a bunch of wall scrolls and stuff in my room... I want to someday be able to draw like that. =P

You have good taste. Tanemura's art is beautiful, and a joy to behold.

Oh wow, they sure are taking their time on the anime! I thought that it would all have been released by now!

Which did you like more? The anime or the manga? I thought the manga went a bit further in terms of internal angst, while the anime had a much more linear style that was, while predictable, was really good to watch. I think I cried too... it's that song, New Future or whatever that was playing at the end that did it.

Personally, I thought the manga had more closure though, which I tend to like. *pulls down books* and these 4koma are hilarious too. heee

And yeah, I love Tanemura too, I think I have most of series with me right now. Been meaning to pick up Shinshi Doumei.

So far, I honestly like the anime better. But it's because I really get into music, and I think that music works best when you can hear it =D
