Antm...
Omg.. I was so shocked at the end of the newest antm that I started crying.. Now there really doesn't seem to be any more reason to watch the show. Seriously, that's just wrong. And I was all excited because they're going to Beijing next, which is where I'm going next month. But now, well who cares anymore.. -_-;;

Current Mood: upset

Ooh, what happened? :/ It sounds bad.

I've missed the last episode, I think, as I download it online and the person who regularly uploads it seems to have vanished, so I'm curious.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:10 am (UTC)
I'm sure it's obvious enough from my upset (I mean, what else could cause so much upset, really?), but I won't say so that I don't spoil it for people who haven't seen it yet.

Yeah I had to wait overnight (:X) to find an upload that worked, but it's up now, so go watch it! ^o^ Well, if you download via BT that is.
L.eames on November 30th, 2007 12:13 am (UTC)
I actually... don't know. (Maybe I'm being stupid, or haven't noticed if you like a particular person a lot. Sorry, I suck. XD)

I'll go searching for a torrent now, though. Do you know what number episode it was, just so I don't waste time d/l-ing the wrong one? ^^;
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:20 am (UTC)
It was episode 11. Well, isn't there only one person that's even worth the vote anymore? I know I'm not the only person that felt that way..

Well everyone spoiled it already in the comments, so you can take a look. But I mean really, even though my favorite girls have gone home before on past seasons (and this), it's never made me cry. This time was too awful though.
Miss Emim_an_aaangel on November 30th, 2007 12:09 am (UTC)
Oh same here.. it's amazing that she's gotten so far with the problem she has and they choose her over the sarcastic one? Not to mention she's the best looking one of the bunch. The others are really nothing special..
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:16 am (UTC)
I don't really care much about her problem personally (I feel like it really shouldn't be taken into condideration), but I really loved her personality and her look. And she was a GEEK, that was the best part! She was one of us.. ;_____; I'm going to cry all over again! At least I'm avenged by TV Guide writing an article about how wrong it is to kick her off and how much the remaining contestants suck. If only Mila was still here, at least there would still be someone to root for.
Miss Emim_an_aaangel on November 30th, 2007 12:21 am (UTC)
Well it's just that I was told I have Asperger's when I was 11 and I know that it can be very difficult to speak to people and make a good impression, not to mention living around all those people. I'm impressed she did as well as she did for that reason.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:29 am (UTC)
It is great that she can kind of stand up for people that have Autism. But I don't think that it had any real bearing on why she was kicked out. In fact, I'm not sure why she was kicked out. Tyra went from my favorite celeb (she banned smoking, that's godly in my eyes) to being possibly the stupidest one with this decision.
Miss Emim_an_aaangel on November 30th, 2007 12:33 am (UTC)
I think it was because she missed 4 go-sees and was 40 miutes late. To Tyra, if she can't book a job, what's the point of being a model.

Oh yeah, she's good at being a hypocrite. She forces them to not smoke and then where do they go? A country that has one of the highest counts of pollution in the world. Though to be fair, I think CG picks the location..
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:50 am (UTC)
Yeah, I was really nervous when I read that China has a really high smoking rate and "it's perfectly acceptible to light up at the dinner table" (a direct quote from my travel guide). Gah I hate smoke with a really intense passion, I'm going to DIE in that country. It's hard to see those skyscrapers and realize how backwards that country still is. Gah, please modernize and ban smoking already! >.

Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 04:50 am (UTC)
Yeah, but that was an olden-day's modern. Now's modern is to ban smoking in all public establishments, as the US has done. Even Japan, which is TERRIBLE at smoking laws bans it on some streets. (Of course they don't enforce it, but the intent is at least slightly there)

Yeah, I've heard some pretty scary things about China. I'm trying not to let it get me down, though. Or at least, not get too scared! ^^;

Hey, you haven't ever had dog by any chance, have you? I'm trying to decide whether I want to try it or not... >.>;;;;

Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 05:38 am (UTC)
LOL yeah, I heard that they love foreigners because they can charge them 4x the price. XD;; I'll have to study that chinese even harder now!! 我将尝试我最佳! (Okay, I put that into babelfish but still..) XD

I have the same philosophy as you. The problem is figuring out if I'm too opposed to it to take it or not! ^^;;;;;
Firsa Asahiasahifirsa on November 30th, 2007 11:53 am (UTC)
I had a dog, even though I knew that I'm a cat person more than a dog person. It was hard for me to accept how utterly depended a dog can be, making me blame myself whenever I could not or would not take it out for a walk or play with it.

A dog is a huge time investment. A cat is really minimal in that regard. Remember, If you "try" a dog, you will have to keep it to 10-20 years depending on how long it lives. Do you have some friends that would leave their dog with you during a vacation? It might be a better way to "try" it out first. Be sure to be on a normal work schedule so you can see how a dog would fit into it.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:30 pm (UTC)
Oh, no! XDXD I've had a dog as a pet before, many in fact. ^^ I can't have one here, I don't have the space and I really only like big dogs. I asked "have you ever had dog?", as in "have you ever eaten dog?" XD
Firsa Asahiasahifirsa on November 30th, 2007 12:37 pm (UTC)
Oh :) That's something my mind didn't think about of course :) There's a street in Hong Kong were they sell cats and dogs to you and prepare them for you right away too. I didn't dare to go there. There's also a tradition to eat dogs somewhere in Switzerland. I'd think they are probably quite tasty, but I'd rather eat a dog then a cat :) But then I'll hopefully never have to eat either.

I never was a fan of Heather personally, but this whole season overall is such a joke that I don't even want to watch anymore >
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:15 am (UTC)
I actually thought until now that this was one of the best seasons so far. But I've only watched from cycle 5, I think. (and bits of old shows)

Heather was the only girl left whom I could identify with. I mean, you never get real geeks on the show. It was like she was championing our cause. Plus I really liked her personality and her look. When she was in pictures, she was by far the most gorgeous girl. I can't understand why she'd go home over someone like Jenna, who is rude and arrogant, exactly the kind of person that I really hate. :<

I really wish that they still had Mila in here. The show could use someone like her (and she was so like me it's scary..).
Sana-chan: Thoughtfulsana_chan on November 30th, 2007 12:29 am (UTC)
I think cycle 7 was my favorite. I just really thought the competition was pretty tough in that one.

I definitely think she had a nice look and her photos were consistently pretty, but I really doubted she'd end up winning. I'm surprised she lasted as far as she did and actually wouldn't have been surprised if she would've wound up in the final 3 at least.

I just want them to get rid of Bianca ><;; I don't like her at all. I think her attitude is the worst out of them all.

I wish Lisa was still around. I thought she was awesome.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:42 am (UTC)
I liked Cycle 7 a lot too. That was the one with the russian girl, right? Except when she was whining about her kids, I really liked her. I wanted her to win sooooo badly!! (though I really don't think that anyone with a family should be in the competition, let alone win it. They can't put off a career like that for their family if they want to be successful). I guess in the end the prettiest and best girl never wins (I mean look at Jaslene! ugh.)

I don't like Bianca at all either! What is it that people like about Lisa? I didn't really care for her and she didn't stand out at all for me, so I don't really understand. I wouldn't have even remembered who she was if I hadn't gone to the site today to protest and she was tied for Heather with popularity. ^^;; Wah Miiiiila, I really think that Mila should have won this competition, just based on her awesome personality alone.
Sana-chan: Balthier grabbing my asssana_chan on November 30th, 2007 01:14 am (UTC)
I think that was cycle 8, but yeah I loved that one too! Natasha was her name, the Russian girl and ohhhhh man I wanted her to win so badly too! I can't believe Jaslene beat her ughughuagu whaaaaaaaaaaat. Jaslene is TERRIBLE. But I totally agree with you on the family issue. When modeling, you're going to be booked by different people all around the world so she'd really hardly be home with her family at all.

I thought Lisa was pretty and to me she just looked like model-material.

Which one was Mila? She was blonde right? I'm so bad with the names of most of the girls lol.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 01:19 am (UTC)
Oh wait, 7 was the one with Jael wasn't it! I REALLY wanted her to win!! Gah. There really needs to be more people who represent the general audience of the show (aka nerds!!) on it. Bridge the gap between audience and particpators and all that!

Mila was the first girl kicked out. The one who said that whenever something bad happens, she just pretended that it didn't exist! Because then it wouldn't matter! Gah, I loved her, I really wish that I could get her email and talk to her, I think that we'd make perfect friends! (I've never met anyone who has my attitude before!)
slytherinblackslytherinblack on November 30th, 2007 06:11 am (UTC)
Jael and Natasha were both Cycle 8. Jael was pretty awesome. My roommate was rooting for Natasha because Natasha was so much like her.

Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 12:17 am (UTC)
America's Next Top Model, it's a TV show that I watch every week. I didn't like the outcome of the last episode at all, it was so unfair. :<

Of course, the one week I miss...

I was really hoping Bianca would go - but I never end up liking the last few. >.< I couldn't believe when Lisa went last week, and I think I've lost most of my interest in this season since then. I'm sorry this past week kind of ruined it for you!
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 01:08 am (UTC)
Yeah, I've pretty much lost interest now too. And right when they're going to Beijing!! ;o; I was excited as soon as they said that, but now what a disappointment!
Vickytoldtojoinlj on November 30th, 2007 01:19 am (UTC)
I was not surprised that Heather was eliminated.
Yeah, she's a beautiful girl and all, but it's obvious that they didn't want to have to take "baby steps" with her due to her disability. So, I understand where they were coming from. By no means does it mean that Heather can't be a model, but she clearly can't take on the type of workload that the ANTM winners will take on.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 01:26 am (UTC)
I have more faith in Heather than that. While I don't think that her disability should ever be taken into account (to be fair), she still had the strongest pictures and best performance overall. She was also the only original-looking one, and the only one that a lot of the audience could identify with (I'm sure most of the audience is nerds/tv lovers/awkward more socially inept people who think they could never be models, including me).

I think she would have adapted to the workload. Maybe not the first time, but she wouldn't be the first model to really suck at go-sees and still win the competition.
Vickytoldtojoinlj on November 30th, 2007 02:39 am (UTC)
But it's not necessarily a matter of who the audience is going to like. Heather, no doubt, is still going to get jobs and still have her fans, but it's all what the judges think is best. Jenah wasn't going to get eliminated over Heather because, according to the judges, she's also had a lot of strong photos but wasn't on the bottom two twice in a row like Heather was. But Jenah's skating on thin ice.

So it's not the end of Heather's career, no friggin' way. She's just not cut out for ANTM's type of qualifications.
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on November 30th, 2007 02:45 am (UTC)
I don't agree on both parts. It often *is* a matter of whom they think that the audience is going to like. Tyra's picked strange girls over and over again, and just as she said, it's so that people at 'home' will feel that they are like them. She's mentioned personality a million times at home and how people are going to be watching them and judging them. Then often girls who are way better than the competition end up going home with very weak reasons, which is just the judges trying to justify picking those people they think will be most liked.

It's not the end of Heather's career at all (if she chooses to continue to pursue modelling), no. But I disagree 100% that Jenna wasn't eliminated because she wasn't in the bottom 2 twice in a row. There are girls who've been in the bottom 2 several times in a row and still gone on to win the entire competition. Heather had the stronger portfolio, the better and more marketable look, and was not a huge ass like Jenna. Who knows why they kicked her off, but I don't believe for a moment that it was because she wasn't as good.
Vickytoldtojoinlj on November 30th, 2007 03:10 am (UTC)
Ah well. We'll just have to agree to disagree. :3
slytherinblackslytherinblack on November 30th, 2007 06:16 am (UTC)
I'm pretty sure Naima was kept as long as she was on S4 because of the audience, not the judges. It took awhile for her to really make an impression on them, but I think she one CG of the week like...every week.

As far as Heather goes, I wonder if the consideration might have been runway. Aside from Caridee's slightly crazy performance in Cycle 7, we've never seen a model trip and fall or anything majorly bad in the final runway, despite the fact that there's usually only one runway week near the beginning of the cycle. I think among other considerations they try to weed out models that weren't runway ready. I think that might have been hard for Heather because of her asperger's/eye contact problem and because she's a little less graceful than some of the other girls.

...I also think that sometimes the decisions are a little arbitrary. They don't want the audience to start guessing every week who's going home or they'd all be bored.

Aughhhhh Jade. Jenna is not nearly so annoying, although it would be hard to be. Jade was cycle 6. It's pretty sad that I can name most of these people, lol.
exathent on November 30th, 2007 02:53 am (UTC)
I was upset too...my sisters were waiting for her to be cut and that just angered me more. She was my favorite! She was so good!
slytherinblackslytherinblack on November 30th, 2007 07:42 am (UTC)
BTW, you might wanna check out Cycle 1 since I thought the winner of that cycle was pretty cool - she had kind of a dark sense of humor. When they were in Paris she really wanted to go see Jim Morrison's grave.

You might also wanna see Cycle 3 since the destination was Tokyo and they did some awesome Japanese shoots.
Firsa Asahiasahifirsa on November 30th, 2007 11:56 am (UTC)
Cycle one was great, even though I was rooting for someone else who made place 3, I think? Just recently saw a poster of her in Shinjuku station and she has an amusing blog too :)

Same here...I don't think I'm watching it for the show anymore, this season for me is along the lines of, "Oh, they are in Shanghai, my home city, let's watch..." kind of thing~ I'm very disappointed...

...I'm still in ANTM 8 ...cable shows 9 so I'll never get to see it...but this sounds terrible! I'm going to wiki straightaway!!!!! T_______________T

*hugs*

Oh, going to China would be SO exciting!!! both for you and for ANTM.
