Tokyo International Design Festa vol. 26
Yesterday, I went with a few friends to see the Tokyo International Design Festa! I went to the spring one last year and really enjoyed it, but this time our friend Liz had her own booth!! ^_____^ Liz, you're so inspiring! ^O^

The whole event was really great.. <3 There were so many awesome things to see, and I really want to have a booth of my own sometime.. It's one of those things that really needs to be experienced to really understand, I believe. ^__^

Design Festa

This guy was rolling around in this really funny robot! =D

The snot store... XD

Liz in her awesome booth <3

I really loved his art! Too bad he didn't have a webpage.

Some random dressing......? They were in a booth dressing this girl, and that's... all.. But it was kind of interesting.

This girl was painting this live mural. It was really cool!!

A giant curry futon! I'm not sure why, though..

One booth had some really pretty colored.. stuff...

This guy had the most amazing miniatures!!

And these were some really cool lifesize balljoint dolls! It was so creepy looking! I'm sad they didn't have a business card..

Some of the artists that I really liked:
http://www.liezlbuenaventura.com/ (Liz's webpage. <3 You know you want to see her art! She's really awesome!!)
http://my-co-pilot.oops.jp/ (I love her illustrator style!)
http://bamboomans.com/ (He doesn't have much art on his site, but I love his bambooman!!)
http://www.dokuotome.com/ (What I really like are her pudgy little characters)
http://www.kayomaru.com/ (Such gorgeous rainbow pictures!)
http://www.ichiyoh-haga.com/ (AMAZING miniatures!! They're so lifelike!!)
http://www.mikish.net/ (I liked some of her rather strange illustrations...)
http://members2.jcom.home.ne.jp/litmusbloom/ (Some really interesting illustrations..)
http://ugyau.easter.ne.jp/index2.html (She had some really gorgeous colored-pencil-on-wood works!)

I don't know about other artists, but it's always so inspiring to see the artwork that others have created. I love looking at ideas come to life, it's so inspiring! =^___^= Oh life, how I love thee <3

Wow, those dolls have so nice clothes! Small ones are strange enough, I'm sure real-size ones are quite scary...

hi from a fellow nippon-ophile!
Konnichiwa Jamie,

Hi, I stumbled upon your page through the MyYahoo links. My name is Emily, I live in Chicago, and I am obsessed with Japan! I am soooo jealous and impressed that you moved there to pursue your dreams. Maybe one day soon I will! How did you get the opportunity to find work there? (I haven't read that far back in your blogs yet). I was thinking of doing the JET program but havent finished my college degree yet, so I'd have to find another way. I am studying Japanese when I have the time...I love your journal though, it's great! Anyway, feel free to say hi, my email is tinydancer9678@yahoo.com
