BANANA vs. TOKYO!
Who would win?? I personally think that this is what the new "Cloverfield" movie will be about. A giant banana that attacks Tokyo New York City. Can you imagine?? We, the people, might win after all, when the incentive is delicious fried banana. If you've never had cooked banana, DO IT. Assuming that you aren't one of those people who thinks that bananas are gross (I know, I don't understand it either), you're guaranteed to love it! Throw on some butter, brown sugar, and you're well on your way to a delicious heart attack!! It's one of my favorite treats..

And I've gotten off the subject. What I meant to say, was that I was on the way to my second job (last day of overtime, yay), which is in Akihabara, and I passed by a UFO catcher machine that had these anthropomorphised bananas in them. The greatest thing is, there really seems to be clear male and female bananas (one in a suit, one with a rose and blush). But on closer inspection, they're both male. So I seemed to have pulled the gay banana out of the machine. Who'd have thought? Well, it does say "エリートバナナ バナ夫", or *Elite Banana, Banana Husband." Eheheh....

Okay, clearly I have to much downtime at work. But at least I used it in a productive way!!

PS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATHY!! ♥♥♥♥

Oooh, fried banana sounds really good. There's a Vietnamese recipe for fried banana and it's so delicious! I really want to eat some right now :9

Lol, that's such an awesome prize! I wish America had something like that in our claw machines!

Nice.
It's like the banana version of Tamaki from Ouran.

Hahaha! Yeah they have notebooks with Mr. Elite Banana on them here in SF, the face is so much like the "yaranaika" faces, that I just had to buy it (also the sparkle kills me). The sunglasses are on a transparent sheet that is bound into the notebook, lol. XD

^^ had fried banana + ice cream for dessert tonight when I went with my family to Daikoku to celebrate my birthday yesterday (Daikoku = Teppan-yaki restaurant), was really nice >_>

Don't work yourself too hard, we don't want you dropping dead on us from all these extra hours you've been pulling, make sure you take care of yourself, k? :P

Is that like bananas foster? Sounds like it.

If not, definitely try to DIY at home. Bananas foster rocks. :D

no, what I had at the restaurant wasn't what you linked, it seemed to be quite a simple recipe (not to mention the banana was pretty much just cut in half length-ways and cooked like that)

Why do I think bananas are gross? Because 1) the smell of them alone is nauseating, and 2) the taste and texture of them is enough to make me throw up. I figure my body is trying to tell me it doesn't want me eating the things for some reason, and I'm happy to oblige it in this case.

Hah. I was going to suggest fried plantains, actually :D

My father's parents are from Panama, I remember eating that as a kid.

Besides that they're smaller and look more brown, is there any difference in taste between bananas and plantains?
Simply NANAtoriru4ever on July 21st, 2007 04:00 am (UTC)
plantains are usually bigger than banana. You can cook them several ways but I prefer them riped and friend :D
they don't taste exactly like banana but close (ummm hard to describe the taste...you should just try them ^^)

lol was the first thing that came to mind when she mentioned the banana recipe :D
