4 days off~~
I've had the last 4 days off (including today), and it's been really, really relaxing. I've spent almost the entire time alone in my house, with the exception of Saturday night having dinner with some friends, and Friday night going to dinner and karaoke. I went to the Outback in Shibuya, which was so nostalgic. Ohhhh steak, how I love thee! I had a garlic cube steak, which was.. drool-worthy. <3

So the rest of the time, I've been trying to get back in touch with myself. Plus, I had no money so staying inside was good. <3 Today, I think that I'll avail myself of the chocolate cafe after I take a bath, however. And just relax and write. I have a lot of things to do.

I watched a discovery channel video online about this pretty spotted octopus that could change colors, and I had this sudden urge to draw an octopus-mermaid. It might be fun to play with that idea sometime later on, too.

And I also started a stippling picture of jellyfish, but I'm not sure that I like it so far and I think that I'll try something in watercolor later after I have some paper (on a bigger scale would be better, too).

Comments? Oh, I wish that I could share the idea for the manga that I'm trying to do recently. I'm not really all that interested in writing dialogue and long plots, but I like imagining them and making them up. Does that make sense? It's so hard to write a story to fit a manga, I sometimes think that it's beyond my ability. But I can do it!! I just have to have faith in my self and cheer myself on. Sometimes it's hard but.. ganbarimasu!

The octopus-mermaid is beautiful. I think you have a lot of talent! Keep up the good work, I know you can make it. ^_~

i think the jellyfish picture would turn out great once its done, I'd really like to see the finished product.

haha same with me, I have all these story ideas going through my head but I've only actually written one down and that never got past 500 words xD.

It's not strange at all. I encounter a similar problem with my writing. The scene can be really detailed in my head, but somehow at times I can't seem to be able to write it down; or if I do, what I write doesn't seem to do the original idea justice.

Ocean creatures are really interesting and mysterious, I think you really captured some of that. The jellyfish image looks great so far and the mermaid is also lovely!

I used to write a long of SF stories and was even the finalist in several contests and I have to say I know what you mean about story. In one's head it's easy to think up amazing and fun stories, with complex or simple plots and great characters. But when it comes time to express the story to others and can be very difficult and hard to explain everything your mind's eye sees.

Wow~! That octopus-mermaid is really cool looking!! richiied just said she'd totally wear a t-shirt with that design on it, or a handbag... or anything lol. I agree *o* very very cool!

Both of them look amazing~ An octopus girl is so different too! I mean in terms of not seeing something like that too often, but she's quite beautiful~

I think it makes sense, because writing things down is different from imagining it and I have a difficulty in writting things down, but I love coming up with the ideas~ Anyway I know that you can do it *hugs* Take it a step at a time and try thinking about shorter stories first perhaps before trying to tackle something long and epic?

Hey! I have the same Micron pen! 8D ...Though I haven't used it in a few months. I envy your skills, but I know you worked hard to acquire them. ^^
I adore the Octo-maid. She looks so fragile.

Your octopus-mermaid is gorgeous! I love the details and the shading on her (especially the shading! Makes her so lifelike!).

All that imagining that you are doing is going to be a part of the big picture, if you know what I mean. So don't worry so much because it will all come together into a cohesive whole at the end. Like what you wrote earlier, just have faith in yourself. You can do it! :D

By the way, I hope it is alright with you if I add you to my friendlist. I find your posts incredibly amusing and interesting, and would love to read more of your future adventures!

Sea creatures are exquisite, and your octopi-mermaid is pretty ^^

Love the octomaid but her arms bug me a bit (I think they need to be longer...or something. hmm maybe the shoulders are too narrow? I can't tell what, but something’s slightly off). The tentacles look super awesome and her eyes look really delicate and beautiful. :)

Do you have a deviant-Art account? You should get one if you don't!

You actually have the patience for stippling!? I don't! lol

OH *o* Your drawing is always so inspiring~! *nod*
You know, I have to create a robot of sort for an illustration class, but I'm running out of ideas T_T

I was also in the Outback on Friday night, but I didn't see you :)

I like the octopus mermaid...

Aww!!! Do continue with the stippling! ...Though from what I understand of stippling, it really takes time and kills quite a bit of brain cells ^^||| But the end result of an entire picture based of stippling is really pretty~ Ganbatte ne!

Wow! Beautiful, really. Jamie, you have such talant!
