100% Chocolate Cafe
Today, I went to chocolate heaven. Also conveniently known as the 100% Chocolate Cafe. I tell you, there is nothing, nothing like chocolate to raise your mood. I sat down at that cafe and took the first look at what I'd ordered, and felt immediately as if I'd floated into the chocolate-shaped ceiling and joined the ranks of those in forever bliss.

I got a Chocolat Tarte and Chocolat Bousee, which were AMAZING!! With each snack that you order, you can choose which flavor of mousse you'd like, and they make them fresh. Then, the most AMAZING thing that I have ever drank--- Orange Pepper Hot Cocoa!! With the first sip, the black pepper taste was so new that I didn't know what to think.. and it was quite spicy on top! A few sips in, I'd come to the conclusion that this drink has to be the most heavenly thing that I have EVER drank! nomg. Unfortunately, they don't sell any mixes and the store is not convenient for me, so I can't have it often, but I am already planning to go back just to have that delicious concoction again!! *dies in heaven*

After that, I browsed the chocolate selection. The store is apparently well-known for their 56-flavored chocolates. I choose a good selection.

I bought: (I haven't tried them all yet)
Jasmine (Not bad, but very strong. I prefer tea..)
Royal Milk Tea (You can't tell if it's white chocolate from the outside so I was surprised... I don't like white chocolate much)
Maccha
Basil (Kind of scared to try it..)
Vanilla Spicy
Lavender
Honey
Cheese (ummmmm......)
Strawberry (Why oh why did they make this WHITE chocolate? Eww)
Cinnamon
Red Chili
Lemon Salt (Surprisingly, this is delicious! I think this is the best one of the lot)
Rose
Hokkaido Hi Milk
Collagen (seriously... but there is no extra taste, just weird texture)

++The flavor on all of these is REALLY strong. Nothing subtle here!!

Woooooow.. let me tell you, rose chocolate is DELICIOUS, and cheese chocolate is..... um.. aheh. ^^;; I thought that the combination of my two favorite flavors couldn't be all that bad, but I wasn't... right. ^_^; LOL well it's actually not horribly awful, but it is definitely an experience that I recommend chocolate and cheese lovers try at least once! Anyways..... nomg HEAVEN. This store was heaaaaaven... ♥

PS: I am very proud of myself. ^_^ This month I  managed to save up a good chunk of the tuition to japanese school. ^^ It's a great start! By April when it starts I should be able to do it!! With that kind of on the plus-side, now I have just the other mondai to work on! ^^

*o* .. that's all I have to say really. xD; We have nothing like that over here at all. Wow. ahjkhakjg chocolate! D:

.. also, you don't like white chocolate? O_O; I prefer white chocolate over milk/dark chocolate, but you can't get white chocolate here in other forms than huge blocks meant for baking T____T (which means that it doesn't really taste like white chocolate meant as candy) it's sad.

Yeah, I can't stand white chocolate... Well, I guess that isn't true. I can stand it, but I don't like it (unless it's filled with Nerds... yum). I really like the cocoa flavor, and white chocolate doesn't have that. It tastes really artificial, too.

Hey what school did you apply to?

I'm thinking of continuing my study after a year but I dont know where to go! I doubt I can stay here another year though :( Any info would be appreciated!

Did you drink all of those teas O_O or were they really small cups? thats alot of cocoa!
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on January 14th, 2007 10:55 am (UTC)
I haven't applied to any schools yet. I'm not sure what school I want to go to. I want to find one that's decently priced (though they all seem about the same) and yet fulltime, mornings. I want a very intense school, whom will seriously help me go up in my japanese level quickly. But I'm not worried about being accepted, I'm sure that it's pretty easy. Language schools aren't very discriminating, so as long as I have the money I'm sure that I'll be fine. ^_^

Those are chocolate pieces, not tea. ^_^

(sorry that was an rp journal ^^;;)

oooh... that hot chocolate sounds really good. Next time I'm in Tokyo...

By the way, what Japanese schools are you looking at, and how much is tution, if you don't mind my asking? I'm trying to figure out what I want to do after I finish my contract here... ^^;
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)hinoai on January 14th, 2007 10:54 am (UTC)
I'm looking at fulltime language schools in the Tokyo area. Most programs are four hours a day, 5 days a week, and the tuition is about $2,000 a semester roughly. It's very expensive, too expensive I think, but that seems to be the normal and I can't find fulltime courses for much less. -_-;;

The hard part is going to be having a job on top of school. I had a hard time with that in college, and I can't even imagine here. But I don't have a choice if I want to become fluent, it seems. Sadly.

You look like a Buster Poindexter song in your new picture. "HOT, HOT, HOT!" Sorry, going away party going on. =) But my statement stands. Oh, and chocolate is good.

Next time you visit I will miss you because I live so far away from everyone else. =(

Oooh... Meiji produces some really unique chocolates! I always look forward to when someone brings Pocky from Japan over to Singapore. XD;;; It's just so different from the ones manufactured at our country! Okay okay... I'm getting off track... *giggles* Wonder what the honey and vanilla spicy flavor chocolates that you bought taste like... LOL.

I think I'm definitely checking that place out on Tuesday! I want to know what orange pepper tastes like. I also want to try chocolate cheese; it sounds so wrong, but there must be something to it or else they wouldn't sell it. Right?

You should try Zotter chocholate if you ever came across it. It's all handmade and the owner has the opinion that chocolate works well with spicy ingredients. There's even curry-banana chocolate! And many, many more! Take a look: http://www.zotter.at/4.html

Glad you had fun! :D The chocolate cafe sounds HEAVENLY :D

Collagen chocolates--my goodness! and lemon salt...wow. I wonder what other weird and wonderful flavours they'll come up with next. Shrimp-chocolate? :D
