A day in the recording studio~♪
Yesterday was really fun! This weekend has really been flying by, I seriously felt like it was Sunday already!! I hope that I can take it a little easier today, but I have plans with friends. (Now I know how Hideaki feels.. wow ^^;;) I actually feel like I might drop dead any second and need some kind of cpr to be revived!! (Any takers? *puckers*)

So, yesterday was great!! I spent the morning with Matt catching up and reminiscing, and then in the early afternoon headed to Junko's office again to help her and a singer friend of hers with an english song. This time, it was Greensleeves!! I know the tune, but I actually didn't know the words before!! (I didn't know that there was a version with words!! Or rather, more than one version since there are apparently different lyrics). We picked out some chocolates and sweets, and then went to the office to correct some of the problems with the lyrics, and then we worked on pronunciation for a few hours. I heard a prerecorded version of the song by her and some of her other new songs, and then we worked HARD. After that, I invited Melissa to come and give us a hand and hang out, and we picked her up at the station and headed on over to the recording studio. I've never been in a professional recording studio before! It was really amazing!! ^o^ Jun's husband was manning the equipment, and we all worked hard on getting the song just perfect!! I think for one song, it took around 2-3 hours!! Wow..... I didn't realize that it was possible to not use the same version of the take either...... there are a lot of splicing and practicing certain lines and things, too. It was really tiring and I was pretty tired by the time that it was done, even though I wasn't the one that was singing! ^^;; But in the end, Junko did an amazing job!!! Both Melissa and I thought that the song sounded amazing!!! I can't wait to see the final CD! My name is going to be in the credits, that is so cool!! *^__^*

After her winter concert next month, we're going to bake pies too. Oh, YUM. I'm going to make a chocolate silk pie!!!! YUMYUMYUM!!

After all of the hard work, we headed out to yakiniku for dinner!!!! Oh, wow... I can't even begin to explain how much fun that was!! And how I tell the worst jokes in japanese. More like puns.. I'm like Dabide. ^^;;;;;;;;;;;;; *ded* But it was really, really fun!!! *sparkles* We all ended up staying out so late that we missed the last trains and Yo-kun and Jun-chan had to drive us home. Oh man, but so much fun!!! Me, Jun-chan, Meri-chan, Ha-chan, Yo-chan, and Christ no ko (long story). I'd tell it, but I have to get running!! I'll write about it when I get home this evening. *^__^*

I used to be a lifeguard ;D Though I never had to revive anyone...

Also your friend Melissa looks like she could be related to you... not like a sister but maybe a cousin or something? Maybe it's just me ^_^;;

I knew her name sounded familiar - Tomoyo! And Ceres too, among others. I love the theme song that she sang for Ceres, it's on my iTunes playlist. XDDD

Man, I woke up with the most terrible sore throat this morning, too! I hope I feel better for work tomorrow.

I must thank you again for inviting me along! Now Junko-chan has my email too! I must improve my Japanese now! Let's improve together, ne? <3 Have a great week! And can you give me the info about the Thanksgiving thing you were talking about? Even if you don't go, I am curious...

To record a song takes like 2-3 hours? Holy crap. ._. That's a long time for jsut a 3 or 4 minute song. Dang.
