After the typhoon~
Yesterday, another typhoon whirled across our tiny island. ^-^ I like typhoons in general. I think that they're a lot of fun. But a typhoon in autumn means that suddenly the mildly warm rainy weather of late is turned freezing cold. People that know me well know that I really, REALLY hate the cold. I can't stand it. No fun to be out in that cold rain and wind, which I had to be... (partially soaked in a few seconds even with an umbrella)

But the great thing about typhoons is that the next day is the most gorgeous day imaginable! It's as if the storm overloads the bad weather capacity and for a while; there's barely a cloud in sight. The sky is rarely bluer, I love it! It's so gorgeous outside, it makes me wish that I could get away and hike! Gah, maybe on Monday I will though, if the warm gorgeous weather holds out... *_*

Oh, and I read somewhere that Japan may eventually turn into a tropical country. Aaaaaah I hope so! I love the 4 seasons, but if it means that I never have to wear a jacket, I'm happy! =^-^= I'm going to go make some lemonade♥

PS: Yesterday was 月見, or in other words, the night that japanese people traditionally have parties at night to look at the moon and drink and celebrate. Obviously it wasn't possible with the weather, but the japanese OL that I was talking to didn't understand why I would associate that with witchcraft... ^^ Ahh culture, I guess America does have some after all. ^^

Mmm yes theoretically Japan could turn tropical. The Earth is tilted at a 23.5 degree angle and will continue to tip over the course of many, many years. The further angle would mean Japan would be closer to the sun (of course this means colder winters too). This also means the North Star will eventually be Vega rather than Polaris -- ^^;; heehee I'm taking Astronomy this semester. Can you tell?

That's awesome, I love astronomy!! ^-^

Doesn't tropical mean that it's pretty much eternal summer? I think that Singapore and Hawaii are both that way?

Good point. I guess if it tipped more it would be more eternal summer-ish. Ahhh that'd be really nice ~

Oooh, typhoons. I think they're fun, because in the Philippines, that usually means school was off, and you got to play in the rain. ^_^

Oh~! Tomorrow is Otsukimi here. Well, sort of. The Ro Ho En in downton Phoenix is holding an Otsukimi festival, which I'm hoping to go, since it's sounds pretty, and I've never been to the gardens before.

Oh, so it's a shared tradition? Yesterday was the Mooncake Festival/Lantern Festival here. The chinese spend the night enjoying the light of the moon with some (really heavy!) sweet cakes and tea.

japan turning into a tropical country would probably be a bad thing hon :(
i live in wa state and we've had one of the longest, driest summers i can ever rememeber....:( this fall isn't going to be full of my reds and yellows and oranges like it usually is, it's supposed to be rainy and cold here now, and it's 70 flippin degrees!! :(
*sigh*
send some of your cold weather across the pacific to me! hehe
take care!

I grew up in WA state.. I don't see how tropical anything is a bad thing. ^^;;; Year-round warmth is a dream come true! I don't like winter clothes, and I don't like times of the year when I can't go outside without spending 10 minutes preparing for the freeze.

And it's 70 degrees out right now, I think...... I'm freezing already. X.x

The sky is indeed as blue as it can get due to the fact the clouds have been discharged or blown away, and most pollutants in the atmosphere are rained down to clear the air and increase visibility ^_^ I'm a geek, I know. But yes, pretty ^^

xD I've never actually been through a typhoon so I wouldn't know what it's like.. but from the picture, the aftermath looks pretty~ ^^

Hehe, last night was fun~ My family had this really big dinner and afterwards we got to eat mooncakes!!~ :3

Chung Mung Tet Trung Thu! :D Or Happy Moon Festival/Children's day in Vietnamese. ♥ Its the celebration of the harvest moon, its like Thanksgiving but its more for children. We get mooncake and all the yummy snacks. :D

After a natural diaster or a hurricane...the sky will look beautiful and the next day, it looks horrible. ♥
