Today there was an earthquake centered in the Kanto/Tokyo region. A level 6 on the richter scale, according to the news. I'll never cease to be amazed (and apparently my japanese friends think so too) by how earthquakes don't faze me. They're fun, actually. ^^.. And I know they're dangerous, but they're just.. so interesting!
This was the first time that I have been outside when one happened. My friends and I were in the Kamakura area being tourists (fairly near the epicenter), when the ground started to shake. And kept on shaking. Most of the people around just stopped walking, and Pappy made us (particularily me who was standing next to a giant glass window and didn't think about it ^^;;) stand away from the buildings and near the street. Wow, the trees lining the street were waving really strongly. The lights in the building were waving too.
I wonder how much damage there was. I haven't heard any reports on that. But after that we went back to sightseeing and didn't really think about it until we wanted to go home and there were HUGE delays in the train lines. ^^;; We're all fine, so don't worry! ^.^ More on the Kamakura trip in the next post! ^^
