Hi-chan (火ちゃん)

MY BOOK!

IT'S OUT!!!
Well, it's up in any case!!!

RELEASE DATE IS JUNE 15
LIMITED-TIME PREORDERS ARE UP NOW!

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

So, I can't believe that I'm finally here. I can't say what this book means to me. I can't say how much work, sweat, blood (yes!), and tears has gone into making this book. It's a combination of support from everyone, huge gobs of work for me, and way, way less sleep than is healthy!

Please share this post, go buy a book, and get everyone you know to buy one, too! I'm counting on you! =^___^=

Buying one supports me, supports my art, supports my future plans of beginning a manga magazine some day, and means that you either think that what I wrote is cool, or love me.

Feel free to buy more than one!

If I somehow hit my goal of 1,000 copies, then I will find a way to publish my manga, Denkiki, online, for FREE. Gratis! There are several models that I'm looking at, but the basics are that if you don't want to, you don't have to pay. You can read, or preview, or anything that you want!

(Plus, if I sell enough preorders quickly enough, I can get out of here and into a new place where I can work in peace. If you don't know what's been happening, check out my other blog.)

I can't express what this means to me that I not only have been able to get this book (almost-- it's in it's final edit and design stage now) out, but that I have had so many of you guys express interest and stand by me. I had no idea how much work it was going to be. None at all!

Here's the final stretch, and I need your preorders!

Details:
▶ This is a limited-time preorder. Book release will be June 15, 2014, although preorders may ship earlier.
▶ Deluxe softcover book
▶ 5.25 x 8"
▶ ~250 pages
▶ full color cover, b&w interior

I'm waiting for your orders, comments, and questions!!
And just to let you know, I will return on Monday for daily blog posts-- until then, I will be monitoring orders and comments, but taking a little bit of a breather! I can't say how much I need it! I haven't taken a day off since the beginning of the year! See you in my comment box and mailbox! ^O^

PS: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST! Thankyousomuch!

A few days ago, my internet went out! Awful timing, since I had to leave in the morning to see Tokyo Girls Collection up in Saitama! (for work) I live REALLY far from the arena (about 2 hours by train), so I stayed over at a friend's house who lives much closer. It was my first time staying with her (usually the other way around! LOL, or it used to be!), and the first time I've stayed over at a friend's in ages! Fun!! I think my immune system may have finally taken a hit, though, because my throat is hurting a little bit today. It makes sense, since there were 30,000 girls at that event! Surely at least one of them had a cold! O.O!

So...... anyways, I just wanted to update everyone. I picked the winner of the drawing and notified him/her! =^-^= Thank you so much to everyone that donated, whether a lot or a little! I'm still a ways away from what I need, so I'm considering what I can do... a lot of people mentioned commissions, and I thought that I'd never do them... but I think I will have to.... So, I'll take some time during this week to get that ready, I guess!! Unless I find a safe and legal way to sell my body, lol. =3 (j/k)

I know a lot of people aren't going to be reading this far without pictures, so I'll bold so that it stands out :)

I need your suggestions for post topics for my new blog!

□ Right now, I'm aiming to start my new blog on September 15th, the seventh anniversary of me leaving for Japan! Can you believe that it's been 7 years?! (I can't!)
□ Your suggestions here are amazing!! I am adding all of them into the to-do list for the new picture-filled blog!

Any more...? Please let me know what you want to see!! =^-^=

Lately, I've been trying to get my dreams into motion, including-but-not-limited-to:

* 4-page short manga. It's just for fun/practice. The story is just a short episode from working with Konomi-sensei. I'll post it online when I'm done. ^^
* Real manga for Ribon
* How-to-be-a-mangaka posts
* Website/blog! It may be small at first, but it's going to be really cool in the end, I think!!
* Japanese study (This takes up a lot of time!)

I was also in a commercial shoot recently.. more about that later on, as soon as it comes out! I'm not sure if it's going to be on tv or just on the internet or what. We'll see. It seems to be in processing right now. Well, I just did it to help out a friend, so it wasn't paid or anything, but it was definitely a learning experience! I'll talk about that all after it's out! (I'm not allowed to now)

I kinda want to make a Zombies-in-Tokyo mini movie or something..... anyone game? Just offhand, I'm thinking little commercial-like videos to put on Youtube, or something like that.. Whatcha think? Anyone want to work on this? (Actors/scriptwriters/cameramen/etc?) Let me know! Maybe a vampire story too......? Of course, this is all just an idea at this point..

So, starting after this week, I'm going to be launching my new blog/website and see where it goes!!

So, I would really like everyone's input who reads this..
What kinds of posts do you want to see from me?
Obviously they'll have as many pictures as possible, and obviously they'll be about Japan/Tokyo, but I want to write things that you guys want to read! =^^= Please tell me! Onegaishimasu!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In other news, there is just one day left to help me reach my tiny little dream! =^-^= Please, please, please help if you are so inclined! I'd really appreciate anything, and I've decided to send at least a little something to everyone, winner of the drawing or not! *^^*
Without any further ado...
♪Happy Birthday♪
to meeeeeeeee! =^-^=
It's super-hot out these days.. hot enough to fry karaage.. or if you found a hole in the cement, I think that you could make Takoyaki! Geeeeeeeeeeeh.... I've been really, really insanely focusing on my new manga. I'm going to bring this one into Shueisha when it's finished... and I have really high hopes! But only time will tell!! (The story so far has gotten a really good reaction)
But I have a confession.... remember how I used to post tons of pictures, all of the time? Well, I talked about it before, but my old camera finally bit the dust and I've been saving up for a new, professional one. My salary is really low, but I've been scrimping and saving, eating just the basics, all to make my first pro camera happen! But every time I manage to save even the slightest, something huge comes up suddenly. Some emergency. So back to zero I go.
So.... I decided the only way to do it is to make one huge go at it, and ask for help! Since it's my birthday this month, and I want to make things happen, for people willing to help me out, I'm going to give one, randomly-selected person, one of my original artworks (a super-rare thing! I've never, ever given an original art piece to someone outside of birthday/family). One day, you might be able to sell it for quite a bit, you never know!
Details here! I need all the help possible, so please please help out!Collapse )
Eveni f you can't/don't donate, I really appreciate spreading the link around if you can! And of course, birthday wishes!! Lots and lots of birthday wishes!! =^-^= (This year, I hope my dreams come true and I publish my own manga! I promise, it will be better and more awesome than even Tenipuri! ^.~ (sorry Sensei!))
Just over two days until my birthday, and I want to say:
Whomever thought up this idea is a genius ♥
Milk tea and milk coffee??!! Geeeeenius, I say. :)
I'm going to make a version of it at home with less sugar and more milk :3!
I will return with more interesting posts soon, I just wanted to update with something! =^-^= Anyone who wants to send me birthday wishes, wait until my birthday? :) :) :) It's just that waking up to lots of messages from you guys would really be a great start to hopefully a great day. =^-^=
Thank you to Katsu Aki-sensei (Futari Ecchi) and Akamatsu Ken (Love Hina, Negima) for the early birthday presents! =^-^=
I love my birthday ♥ I always love celebrating my birthday too!! It's the only day of the whole year that I can legitimately say, "today is MY day. I deserve to be happy for this day!" I try my best to always be happy on my birthday too! No matter what kind of crap happens. :)
I kinda want to do something on my blog, too, but I don't know what to do... Any ideas? I really have no idea...I thought momentarily about asking for presents, but really, the only thing that I want is contributions toward finally getting a new camera.... maybe if people think it's a good idea, I'll put a paypal link up? But only if people say so.. otherwise, I will continue to save up little by little and hopefully one day I'll get one! (I haven't mentioned it for a while, but my digicam broke a while back, that's why I don't post many pictures anymore... I am going to get a pro camera next time, but a lot of things have popped up and every time I get a tiny amount of money saved up- I had more than half at one point- something comes up unexpectedly!). Oh well.... one day I will for sure!!
Hi-chan (火ちゃん)
Lately, I've been all about diet, exercise, and making a body that I love instead of one that I want to hide. Although there are certain things that can't be changed without surgery (like boob size, as in growing bigger, for example!), things like losing fat and toning... those are things that almost anyone can do!! It's harder for some than others, but hey.. to be honest, I'm really tired of not liking this or that, and so I decided to do it NOW.
Actually, in the last three years, I've lost about 30 kilos! It's pretty obvious if you look at old (unedited!) pictures of me, and rest assured I never put any of those online! ^^; Though, I am pretty tall, so 30 kilos, while it's a lot, it's not quite the same effect as someone a foot shorter would get. (By the way, I am roughly 10kilos heavier than the "bulky" models who are my height and I'm not underweight. just in case anyone was wondering ^^;;)
I won't get into what I don't like about my body, just rest assured that there are points, and I have been working really, really, really hard to change the ones that don't involve expensive surgery or dental work! Since I love to eat, I wasn't getting anywhere for a while, but now I've figured out a few recipes that (in addition to working out) really help AND leave me full and full of energy!!
So I wanted to share....!Collapse )
Well.... those are my current staples/often-eaten foods! I still eat a mix of other foods of all kinds, depending on the day, but these low-calorie treats have really helped me shape up! I'll definitely still be eating them even after I achieve my goal!
Does anyone else have any delicious low-low-low calorie recipes and tricks? Please share them! (=^o^=)/
By the way, my ideal would be close to Gisele Bundchen. I guess..
Do you wanna be a mangaka?
Part 3c: Resume? What resume?
Part 0: http://hinoai.livejournal.com/781747.html
Part 1: http://hinoai.livejournal.com/782951.html
Part 2: http://hinoai.livejournal.com/783744.html
Part 3a: http://hinoai.livejournal.com/785039.html
Part 3b: http://hinoai.livejournal.com/786832.html
(remember, I am talking ONLY about manga made *in* Japan-- Dragonball Z, Naturo, Death Note, etc etc etc. ^-^ I don't have any experience outside of Japan, so I can't really help you there! Gomen! ^^;)
We've talked about where to look for a job as a mangaka, and how to get a visa that will allow you to work in Japan. So now you've found that job listing that you think would be perfect for you... what do you do next?
Well, in the last installment I went through and explained a sample ad for an assistant to Hoshino-sensei, for the D.Gray Man manga. I explained where to send the applications, his requirements, and how to apply. So... what exactly are you supposed to send? This is where it starts to get real ^-^
You should send three things: Read more...Collapse )
Next up: Part 4: Manga technique introduction♪ "How do they do that??!!"
All of the examples that I listed above? Well, I will show you how to do them and more! =^-^= Stay tuned!!
Please leave comments! I want to know your opinions, questions that you want me to answer in future installments, and of course what you liked!! (Plus, comments encourage me to keep writing! ^^)
Shitenhouji socks!!
Tomorrow I'm getting my picture taken for my artist profile, so I suppose I should watch what I eat today! Actually, I do that every day. It's hard getting in shape!!! But I'm trying not only to tone up (lose unwanted fat, build up pretty but not unreasonable muscles), but also improve my skin (somehow this isn't working..) and my digestion, and overall health.
A kind of gross thing that I've learned: You should be going #2 at least twice a day, and within two hours of a normal meal!! Sometimes this happens, but not so much lately. If you don't it's a sign of a bad diet/consipation/problems. Did anyone else know this? I didn't use to have any problems, but when I started eating rice/bread a lot (switching to a japanese diet), I started with problems. I suppose this is why laxatives are a HUGE seller here. Any drugstore that you go to will have huge displays with tons of different brands. Home mini-enema kits are also really cheap and huge sellers. I had never thought of an enema before, but after researching find htat they are really good for you! Umm, this is kinda gross isn't it? ^^; Well, in any case, I am curious about enemas, but I will not take laxatives unless there is a medical reason. Laxatives are generally bad for you, right? At least that is what I read. Plus, well... you know, the results can be uncomfortable! Does anyone know anything about any of this?
Sorry for all of the gross talk!! Well, I've been busy with projects as usual, as well as trying to get myself on track health-wise. It feels like an uphill battle. Does anyone want to share their stories of personal health battles? Especially if you are currently trying hard to get in better shape/lose weight/be healthier/etc.. We can cheer each other on!! :)
Enough about that! ^^;;; I do have a few random pictures to share~~
